True about Weis (and I was a big defender of him), but there was an abundance of talent there that Kelly came into.
As far as Crist not having the talent Rees possessed to comeback to win we will never know other than the Michigan game.
Rees only hindered the game more so than Montana, but Crist fought back to regain the lead before the defense failed at the end
I notice you didn't answer the man's question. How did BK go 44-6 in his last 50 with such meager personnel ?
It appeared to me that Kelly/Rees played their weaker schedule a risk averse offense with lots of short passes and outside zone blocking runs that wouldn't result in many pick sixes. That kept opponents like Toledo and BYU from getting out of hand but left us with few moves in the playoffs.

I doubt Kelly/Rees would have fared much better in our four game gauntlet this October.

QB strength is the be all of football nowadays. Not even Belichek can out coach anyone with his new line of game managers.
