Officially Official CFB Playoff 1st Round (Corn & Soybeans Bowl) ND v. IU Game Thread

Solid 1st half. D is elite. The O can do better.

I’m a bit worried about Love. Announcers mentioned possible tweak still on knee.

🙏

Hoosiers shot themselves in the foot with your pick. Unless something freaky happens you should rule.
Agree?

TD on first possession of the 3rd will seal the game for ND. 24-3 mid 3rd quarter will be to much for IU

I'm also with scoring in opening drive for 2nd half. That will do serious damage to Indiana morale.

I think Indiana is going to try to sling it around in the second half. Crossing routes and fades (ND has been covering the fades well though). In cuts to the slot like they completed twice in the first half.

If ND can take the opening drive of the second and put up 7 while taking 5 Min off, don’t see IU coming back
I think that's a big if. I've been more impressed with the IU defense than I expected to be. They are well disciplined and tackle well. I hope we can start to lean on them to tire them them out going into the fourth quarter.

I just read on the Soundoff board that without the Love run, ND has 55 yards rushing. Is that true?

They are dinking and dunking because they are getting dominated by the defense. If they start "slinging it around" it'll only equate to more short possessions/3 and outs.

Agree. ND’s D so far has been great. But they are not getting to the QB. IU is and outside of a broken play, ND had one real drive. I don’t see ND putting up another 17. I think it’s a dog fight to 10 because MD is balancing clock with risk

what is this weird insistence by ND fans that Indiana (despite all of the evidence) is some team about to go off on ND or something?

The data says ND would dominate prior to the game
ND has dominated during the game
ND win prob up to 93%
ND up 110+ in total yards
ND has the better players
ND has the home field

what else do you guys need to see?

Maybe Leonard should have run the ball himself on 3rd and 7 instead of throwing into coverage!
