“It’s hard to win”

Why is Ian Book on the Philadelphis Eagle's roster if he is so pathetic?

Don’t be stupid. Why did the Saints waive a 4th round draft pick after one year when they don’t have a good QB to begin with?

There are plenty of bad QB’s on NFL rosters for a multitude of different reasons.

Because he got about all out of his average ability

Ian Book’s best trait was his improvisation. Something Rees couldn’t possibly have taught. He had a terrible deep ball and had a giant blind spot in the middle of the field. Our defense gave him a lot of wiggle room in most cases throughout his tenure, but when we needed our offense to step up, it almost never happened

BK beat Navy by 2 year 1, one less than MF. BK lost the next year to Navy.

ND was up but, went conservative and DP didn’t pull the trigger.

In the end, it goes as a W. Kick that FG against Stanford or don’t fumble and your probably in the top 10.

Just win.

Yea, that’s why he’s on an NFL roster, because he has “average” ability.

You know nothing about football but posture as if you know more than the professionals in the NFL

You’re clueless

Name them !

There are no “BAD” QB’s on any NFL roster !

Ian Book was an average talent and he ended with a great career. The coach gets credit for that

I agree with everything except the credit part. I’m trying to figure out just what exactly you think Rees did to make Ian a better player throughout his career….

An average talent that‘s on an NFL roster.

You know nothing about football !

You really are clueless !

Then you should have no problem naming them !

Go ahead, name the bad NFL QB’s.

You know, the one’s that get paid millions of dollars.

Name them !

Just look at the rosters. There’s roughly 96 QBs on NFL rosters that you believe are all equal and don’t have any weaknesses. You’re absolutely ridiculous. Lol

There’s no reason for this or any team to be this extreme up and down
I understand some here want to look at the program as it was under Brian Kelly but he’s not here anymore. Marcus Freeman IS in his 1st year as leader of the program and as with any 1st year, there’s going to be good and bad times. At this point, 9-3 is still a possibility and looking back, many would take a 9-3 season under a new regime. We can’t look at this as being Year whatever under BK. This is Year 1 under Freeman. We’ve got a good Freshman Class on campus, growing up under Balis and we’re a month away from signing a top 5-8 class. BK’s classes were quite average in comparison. The needle is pointing “up” imo. We just got to be realistic, fellas. Give the man a chance.

Can you please list the reasons why a QB as pathetic as Ian Book is in the second year of a 4 year 4.4 million dollar contract as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles?

So how many positive threads must one start in order to have a complaint about today?

Ara coached many years prior to that game and had earned his keep by then. That’s hardly the current case here. Not to mention, 50 years later, it’s still a game that is talked about negatively by ND fans and like you stated, it was against a MUCH better opponent than a 3-6 Navy team.

2 yards in the 2nd half. Were any of Ara’s teams that inept in any half? Might be the worst half of offensive production in ND history honestly. But sure, it’s nothing to be concerned about
Not comparing Freeman to Ara. Comment only shows that these types of games can happen to any coach with various levels of experience and various levels of talent. Part of the nature of college football.

2013 wasn't a blow out either. We won by four points, and Folston is probably still dragging a few midshippies.
