Shouldn't be against an inferior team....but such is the ND way. Make a shitty team look like a top 10 team and make their backup QB look like a Heisman candidate. This is the ND way.
Exactly… it’s not hard to win in college because you can just significantly out talent teams

He needs an OC and a QB. And he needs to get the guys up for teams that arent very good.
But, we're 7 and 3 right now. Have 2 wins against the top 15. All with a backup non p5 QB.
So chill out, get better and beat BC next week to get to 8 and 3 and maybe top 15 with a showdown against USC coming

But,MF shouldnt have let Golden play his defense against Navy. Mf owned Navy his last 2x against them. Hopefully he doesnt make that mistake again
I've never met anyone who got up to play against the triple option. Its miserable. Coming after Clemson with 2 starters out....
It is awful but that was a bad navy team. Not the quality teams that nd has played in the past at times

Again, any defense would be awful if their offense failed to get 1 first down in an entire half.
Rees is 30 years old and has been an OC for less than 3 seasons. It would be nice if he had a Head Coach, he could lean on to provide some guidance and helpful hints when he was clearly floundering in the 2nd half.
That 2nd half was about the biggest embarrassment I have ever seen at ANY level.

Seems like we always struggle against option teams. I'm not happy with today, but it's better than a loss. We should be able to beat BC. USC might be a long day, but we have a shot if we play like we did last week.

Rees can’t get one. Carr won’t be ready until 2025 or 2026. I doubt we get an elite transfer.

Terrible game. It’s not an excuse, but I sort of expected a letdown after the Clemson game. Fortunately the Irish still won, which preserves going in the right direction.
I still think the rest of the season needs to play out for a full assessment.
That said, I wonder why ND couldn’t run against Navy like against Clemson. Other than the said letdown. Freeman has a lot of work

Couldn’t agree more. If you got more talent you should win….unless coaches suck!
8 and 4 is moving in the right direction after the start we had. But it would be nice to either beat USC or win our bowl game for some momentum. Or both.
Shouldn't matter! As good as I felt about the program heading in the right direction last Saturday night is completely gone after that 2nd half, today was a huge step backwards for CMF.
Nobody on this board expected to see or would have stated they’d be fine with an 8-4 season (or 9-3 for that matter). We all expected 10-2 worse case. Our starting QB got injured, but guess what, every team deals with injuries and most good teams have a capable backup. We’ve just flat regressed this year for a number of reasons that have been beaten to death.
