OT: More Georgia players arrested on misdemeanor driving charges

Maybe I'm thinking too highly of college athletes, but it blows my mind that Georgia is still dealing with players getting in trouble for reckless driving with the recent history in that program.

OT: Just a thought.

@Eric Hansen and @Tyler James,

I know both of you are very busy with all the Football recruiting and workout coverage, but I am wondering if a “Sticky Thread” could be made that lists the current commitments, targets, and scholarship offers for WBB and MBB?

What I have been able to find out about the Class of ‘25 so far is that ND has a commitment from Leah Macy (thanks for the coverage) and it has been reported they have offered ZaKiyah Johnson (6-1 W, Sacred Heart Academy, Louisville) and Madison Francis (6-1 W, Lancaster HS, NY). Outside of Olivia Vukosa has ND had any other '26 offers?

Some sites have also reported that ND is “targeting” Agot Makeer, Grace Knox, Deniya Prawl, and Emilee Skinner, but none of them list if they have been offered a scholarship.

Football ACC will bring iPad technology to ACC football sidelines and coaches booths in 2024

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (TheACC.com) – The Atlantic Coast Conference and Apple will collaborate to bring iPad Technology to ACC football sidelines and coaches booths starting with the 2024 season, the ACC and Disney Advertising announced today. All 17 ACC football programs will have access to conference-provided iPad Pro and iPad Air models to immediately view video playback, elevating on field performance.

In April, the NCAA Playing Rules Oversight Panel approved the use of video for in-game evaluation. The large multi-touch display of iPad, combined with its performance and portability, make it the ideal solution for coaches and student-athletes to watch film in-game in an efficient and timely manner. The video provided to each team’s sideline will include the broadcast feed and camera angles from the coach's sideline and coach's end zone.

“The ACC continues its commitment in embracing the use of technology to elevate the performance of our student-athletes, teams, officials, and more,” said ACC Commissioner Jim Phillips, Ph.D. “We are proud to advance the sport of football and build upon our positive experiences over the last two years of testing in men’s and women’s basketball. Between our state-of-the-art ACC Game Day Operations Center, being at the forefront of testing the technology in basketball and with this year’s integration in football, we are proud of our unparalleled prioritization of technology and the positive impact it will have for our league.”

"We're thrilled the ACC is utilizing iPad, as its unique capabilities and versatility make it the ideal solution to support coaches and student-athletes,” said Scott Brodrick, Apple's Worldwide iPad Product Marketing. “With an unrivaled combination of advanced displays, powerful performance, portability, fast connectivity, all day battery life and versatile accessories, iPad will let coaches and players make in-game adjustments and empower athletes to compete at the highest level.”

The ACC will kick off the 2024 college football season in Dublin with a Week 0 matchup between Florida State and Georgia Tech, live on ESPN in the 2024 Aer Lingus College Football Classic at Aviva Stadium on Saturday, Aug. 24 (noon ET). Action continues in Week 1 with all 17 ACC teams taking to the field and 16 of them playing across Disney platforms over Labor Day weekend.

Basketball MBB: New offer for 2025 Indiana forward prospect

ND MBB coach Miach Shrewsberry continues to hit Indiana hard on the recruiting trail. The latest offer goes to Tre Singleton, a 6-8 forward from Jeffersonville. Coached by former Indiana University guard Sherron Wilkerson, Jeffersonville went 20-9 last season and made it to the final four of the Indiana Class 4A boys basketball tournament. Singleton averaged 14-2 points, 7.1 rebounds and 3.0 assists last season. He shot 61% from the field and was accurate from the 3-point arc the few times he wandered out there (8-of-16, 50%). He reports 22 offers, most from mid-majors. But he now has four ACC offers, including the one from Notre Dame. Clemson, Wake Forest and Louisville — just across the Ohio River from Jeffersonville — are the others.

Football I'm back from vacation and setting the stage for what's ahead.

Great to be back with you and I really unplugged from the last few days of vacation, so I am getting back up to speed. Tyler mentioned that we have the ND football training camp schedule, and that we're not at liberty to share the specifics of it. But we can share that it will start with a full practice viewing window on July 31, with head coach Marcus Freeman taking our questions after the practice. We'll have some other player and assistant coach availability that week.

UPDATE (7/12):

Derek Meadows has moved his decision back a week to July 20. This is a sign that the Irish still have an outside chance and he needs more time to think about it.

PREVIOUSLY:

Derek Meadows, a longtime Notre Dame wide receiver target in the 2025 class, is set to make a college decision. He will announce his commitment on Saturday, he shared Tuesday.

Rivals ranks Meadows as the No. 10 wide receiver and No. 61 overall.

As I mentioned following the launch of the new Rivals website presentation, we will be gaining the ability to control the "widgets" that are displayed at the top right of the page for desktop users.

Here's what it looks like right now:

Homepage 79.png
It currently shows the Rivals250, Team Recruiting Rankings, FutureCasts for ND and the 2025 commit list. What we'll likely do is cut one column out, so there will be only two widgets instead of four. However, we're not just limited to those four current widgets.

I wanted to get some feedback from the board, even though I realize some of you don't even go to the homepage. Which widgets do you think are most important for the top of the homepage?

The options are ...

Football Recruiting Team Rankings
Football Transfer Team Rankings

Recruiting Why OT Owen Strebig is an active recruiter for Notre Dame football

“Obviously, there's a brotherhood once you're on the team,” Notre Dame OT commit Owen Strebig said. “But it's rare to find recruiting classes that have a brotherhood without signing anything. It just proves how much we care about each other and care about our school, because we just want to keep getting people together."

His top recruiting target?

“Derek Meadows, that’s target number one,” Strebig said last month. “Once we get Derek Meadows, I think life will be good.”

***No Football Never Sleeps from me this week***

I was looking into doing another Football Never Sleeps on YouTube this week, but it's not going to come together. I went big-game hunting for a co-host and I fell short. I wanted to bring something different to the show rather than just talking about the same recruiting topics we've been covering ad nauseum. And I want to keep the most important updates on ND's remaining 2025 targets available here for our subscribers first.

@Eric Hansen will be back next week, as soon as Monday, with Bob Morton for another Football Never Sleeps.

I'll keep digging on intel for the 2025 targets and turning out some other recruiting stories.

Recruiting Rivals Five-Star: How ND's commits performed

I don't think this made the board previously, as it was buried in a story headlined "How ACC programs were impacted."

Our national crew included Notre Dame in the ACC preview and recap, because there wasn't a need to do one for independents.

So here's what @John Garcia Jr. wrote about Notre Dame's commits:

We put the Irish in the ACC preview so they'll live again in the conference analysis coming out of Jacksonville, too. Irish quarterback commit Deuce Knight was the headliner coming in, and he did not disappoint in helping to win the 7-on-7 portion of the event. A late add to supplement a deep quarterback field was also representing the Irish in Noah Grubbs. The 2026 standout showed improved athleticism and sharp mechanics while in town.

Elsewhere, it was our staff's first full look at Irish secondary commitment Dallas Golden and he both looked and played the part. Working at cornerback, he showed great speed and instincts with the football in the air. Up front, fellow Notre Dame pledge Owen Strebig was a personality among offensive linemen (saying a lot in this field) and backed it up with a rock solid showing while sporting one of the best and biggest frames of any recruits in attendance.
