A special Sunday night edition of Football Never Sleeps with guest co-host Bob Morton: Deep dive into O-line play

I attempted to bring you the latest edition of "Football Never Sleeps" with guest host and former Notre Dame offensive lineman Bob Morton Sunday night at 7 EDT. Your prayers that I did everything right from a tech standpoint were appreciated and almost worked. The talking ND football is the easy part.

If you missed us live, catch the replay. We chatted about how college football teams and individuals go about getting better in the summer, the Irish O-line's evolution and challenges, and newcomers to watch ... and answered questions from viewers. And there were some great questions.

Football Never Sleeps is sponsored by Legacy Heating & Air.

I hope you join me us with questions or submit some ahead of time. Hit the bell to set a reminder to get notified when we go live.

Basketball WBB: Inside the rise of Notre Dame WBB incoming transfer forward Liatu King

“Honestly it’s a surreal moment, because if it wasn’t for those people in my corner pushing me to be somebody, to be OK with the unknown and not being scared to take a leap of faith, I don’t know where I would be." — Liatu King

Football I'm back and getting back up to speed, here to help

Hey guys/gals.

I'm back this week and properly caffeinated after being gone most of June. Tyler is gone this week and will be back next week, then has some more time later in the month. Thanks for this patience as we get a chance to spend family time and get recharged. We will keep the content flowing, and I hope you'll find it to be quality content and not just summer "filler."

A few of things I wanted to share:

► I'm just getting up to speed myself on the new website design, that was engineers across network by Rivals/Yahoo Sports. The unveiling was during some vacation time for me. I do know there are or will be some fixes and tweaks ahead. Tyler is more adept at me in putting those into motion, but if you have questions and concerns, I can at least collate them until he pops back in next week. We will also have some control in the future to do some customizing of the look and format of our own pages.

► I will be having a live chat this week at noon EDT on Wednesday.

► I will be doing a Football Never Sleeps Show sometime this week with former Notre Dame offensive lineman Bob Morton. I'll have more details later this afternoon as to when this week we'll do it. We do plan to settle back into a more regular schedule with the show, as in its normal Monday night 7 ET time slot, once training camp starts at the end of July.

► I tried to pop in on the message board from time to time during vacation, but I am guessing I missed some of the messages/questions you all had for me specifically. If you could pose them to me here, I'll be happy to revisit them.

► The really nuanced recruiting questions may have to wait for Tyler, but I have gotten up to speed quickly, and there's not a ton of moving parts as it retains to the 2025 class. Lots going on in the 2026 cycle in terms of the staff strengthening relationships with its top targets.

Thanks again for being here. I appreciate you all.

Football For those who listen to WSBT's Weekday SportsBeat radio show ...

I'll be on Tuesday and Friday this week at 5 p.m. ET rather than the typical Wednesday and Thursday slots. Then next week I'll be off, then back to Wednesday/Thursdays the week of July 15 on a regular basis as we get into training camp (July 31) and football season (opening Aug. 31). I'll also be doing the pregame shows. You can listen locally at 960 AM, or anywhere at wsbtradio.com and the free WSBT radio app. The episodes can be downloaded and listened to in podcast format.

Football Time to submit your questions for Wednesday's Notre Dame Football Live Chat

Remember to include your name and hometown along with your question(s) in this format. Question queue is already open, so you can submit yours early. Here's a shortcut to do so:

External review of potential 'culture issues' within Notre Dame men’s swimming and diving program is underway

We're still gathering info on this.

UPDATE:

Here's a statement we were able to get from ND when reaching out ...

In response to recently received reports of potential issues with the culture of the men’s swimming and diving team, we promptly undertook a preliminary inquiry. Based on this inquiry, we commissioned the law firm of Ropes & Gray LLP to conduct a timely, independent review of the program.

We take seriously our obligation to foster a community of student-athletes who not only compete and perform at the highest level academically and athletically, but whose conduct is exemplary in all aspects of student life.
