Defensive coordinator Al Golden and defensive line coach Al Washington have been leading the charge in Notre Dame's recruitment of Kosi Okpala.

“You can tell [Golden] knows what he’s talking about,” Okpala said. “Even with Washington, too, they’re very to the point, to the subject.

Whenever there is a discussion about conference alignment, playoffs, etc, ND's independence seems to come up and those who hate or just don't like ND rant about ND joining a conference. I've never understood it. Why do they care one way or the other? I doubt it has any impact on the teams they root for? Would all those people be as obsessed if it were Texas or Alabama or FSU? I doubt it. It kinda feels juvenile or petulant.

Notre Dame continues to be one of the top schools for 2026 four-star CB RJ Sermons.

Zion Lee, a 2026 defensive end recruit who transferred from Joppa (Md.) Joppatowne to Baltimore St. Frances Academy this summer, reported a Notre Dame offer Monday.

The Irish joined an offer list that includes Alabama, Georgia, Miami, Ohio State and Oregon. Rivals ranks Elee as the No. 6 weakside defensive end and No. 95 overall in the 2026 class. Elee tallied 64 tackles, 13 sacks and 24 tackles for loss in his sophomore season.

I'm back from vacation and getting back in the swing of things today. I'll be working through Sunday and then taking two more weeks of vacation to charge up for preseason camp and a big season of Notre Dame football.

I'm working on reaching out to sources to get the latest on Notre Dame football recruiting front. But I wanted to get a sense for what you guys are interested in right now.

What questions do you have about Notre Dame football, recruiting, etc.? I'll answer what I can in this thread and may create some more content around ideas that come from it. Let's roll!

Notre Dame football head coach Marcus Freeman joined 20 other coaches on Monday's preseason watch list for the 2024 Dodd Trophy. The award recognizes the college football coach who finds success on the field with an emphasis on scholarship, leadership and integrity.

Freeman was on the preseason watch list prior to the 2023 season as well, but he did not make it ahead of his debut season in 2022. Former Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly made the Dodd Trophy preseason watch list prior to each of his final four seasons with the Irish.

Kelly won it following the 2018 season. He became the only Notre Dame coach to do so since the award's inception in 1976. Florida State's Mike Norvell won it last season.
