Question......If we give a kid a nice NIL package worth a million
dollars, does the kid still get a full scholarship worth close to $75,000 a year?
It seems the sponsors should take careof that too.

Just asking so don't go ballistic on me.

You have to award it through the school. It's a compliance issue.

I'm going to go ballistic on you. 3,2,1.... Would you prefer maybe to spit on the players? The malice or hostility or whatever very palpable emotion guys like you are motivated by, when getting indignant or whatnot about how these players get a scholarship, AND, now, also get paid to play.... Maybe you could get it out of your system by just spitting on them. And then forever holding your peace about the subject.

But you'd have to pay for that too. That would come under the NIL umbrella.

Seriously, there's no sense or logic to what you're saying. It's purely punitive and quite manifestly you want to hurt the players somehow, however indirect, that's how head-scathing your suggestions don't appertain to this situation at all, and would just be a completely arbitrary idea. So it's hard to even answer the question, because no one would ever think, or have it come to mind what you're suggesting, unless it was to hurt the players. It's that nonsensical on any sort of normal merits. And it's really, really twisted and dark psychologically, that you would want to do something like this. Once again, it makes absolutely no sense, it certainly doesn't make any capitalist/private-property/free-enterprise sense AT ALL.... Other than trying to soak your economic competitors for anything you can gouge out of them. Quite frankly it's the sort of thing a former slavemaster might think of, or maybe in Tsarist Russia when the nobility had to relinquish their serfs..... It just doesn't make any sense at all. Only that you're used to seeing these players be exploited, and that you were quite comfortable with that longstanding state of affairs, and now that things are changing, you cannot prevent a natural impulse to hurt them in any way you can. And get that one last dig in.

So no, the schools still have to provide the scholarships. And the players aren't going to pay for them nor are their sponsors either. Because it makes absolutely no sense on any level for that to happen. And quite frankly, and you better brace yourself for this, when in addition to providing scholarships as they always have and always will, schools are also going to be splitting the big TV and ticket money with the players when full professionalization finally happens.

So bottom line, I think the schools are always going to be perpetually on the hook in one way or another for providing the scholarships.

Anyone have an Advil?

Anyone have an Advil?
It's cyanide I told you! Not advil, that's not what you need.

I wish we could make you a serf. You basically already are one. You have the soul of a serf, the ones that wanted to stay serfs, and didn't want their freedom. That's you....
