Just want to give some players some props and some thoughts.

Love, Price, Leonard. It’s awesome having such tough minded guys carrying the ball for ND. Love ran real hard during the Navy game along with the whole year. He’s a very willing blocker too. I freaking love this backfield — everyone. Hope everyone comes back.

Leonard is usually looking to dive or get whatever he legitimately can. So many QB’s slide when they really can make a play for the first or the offense misses out on around 5 yards. He could have easily gone out of bounds on the first TD run against Purdue but still fought the whole way.

I see other players looking to get out of bounds even when they’re not about to take a big hit. I saw a player with a defender behind him, the ball carrier was likely to be tackled but he could have kept running to get what he could (could have been 3-7 yards) or even potentially break the tackle and get more. Instead he pumps the breaks and slips out of bounds in order to prevent being tackled from behind. I just can’t see Love or Price going out of bounds the way I saw this player do it (I’m not saying the player was soft necessarily, who knows what he was thinking). It’s just not in the DNA for Love and Price to do it like that.

Tuihalamaka. I’m glad he didn’t pull any stunt where he wants to maintain a year of eligibility and still get his degree. He’s probably a guy that needs five years if he wanted to attempt to make it to the NFL. Got switched from LB and he’s doing what he can to help the team. He’s a key contributor now and hopefully he comes back next year.

Super proud of the coaches and players on defense withstanding all of the injuries and still being a really good unit. Kiser probably very selfless. I’m sure he wanted to do as much as he could to get to the NFL and he’s splitting reps with four other guys.

I really think ND might have something extra special in their roster going forward where they get more team oriented guys and it helps make up for areas where they might be lacking. Like the guys who don’t want to transfer because they love ND and value the degree or aren’t going to be bought away by NIL and it sounds like ND is good with NIL anyway.

Love this team.

The numerous players that transfer into Notre Dame. Are they team oriented guys?

Maybe. Maybe not. A player isn’t automatically not team oriented just because he transfers. ND receives less transfers. Perhaps a slightly better team culture and continuity.

We have a good running game for sure. And that definitely includes RL, you could almost says he's our best RB. And it's a very fun offense to watch. And it would appear now to my eyes to be very well coached and coordinated. We've got a nice little operation going. Kudos to Denbrck.

Obviously the defense is the team, without it, we'd be, I don't know, 5-3? And Al Golden is proving to have been a truly inspired hire, and it really seems like our defense is a pretty badass unit through and through. Plenty of individual talent and ability, but they look so well coached and with confidence and conviction and commitment. They're just a high class, first-rate unit. I'd say it's a championship level defense. Though four straight games will be tough. USC will be a test. They have a very good passing game, even if it's not quite vintage Lincoln Riley, that'll be our biggest test maybe before the playoff, and one we have to pass obviously.

There are lots of people stepping up. Some freshman are difference makers which is hard to believe. MF has really landed some talent that maybe the services under rated.
