They are ranked because they only play MAC schools and themselves .... all big 10 teams should be kissing Northwestern's arse since they had the only notable win against Stanford albeit in the 1st game of the season, at Northwestern, and consider they played that game 9 am Stanford Time ..Players probably had to get up by at least 6 am Stanford time to get ready and head to the stadium .... if not earlier
Big 10 schedules were a joke and this will only inspire more teams to schedule cream puffs ... the Bowl committee does not care about schedule strength unless there is a team they want to promote
Last check has highest Big 10 team schedule for MSU was 29th .... UM 33rd ..... OSU 35th (which I think is way too high for them) ... Iowa 60th .... everyone else worse

Funny side bit ... Paul Finnebaum when asked to predict winner of Iowa vs MSU game said Iowa has no chance (no embellishing here) .... said there is no comparison between the 2 ...... that is what some think of Iowa's 12-0

OSU is arguably the best team in the Big 10 ..... if they play ND the way they play most everybody else ..... ND wins that one .... ND is totally capable of playing with them
ND hasn't lost a game this year they haven't given away/been "officially" handicapped
4 TO's against Clemson in monsoon ... 1 critical TO against Stanford with every close call going against ND .... ND is better than MSU .... MSU is capable of beating them but not without help from officials and ND

Have you watched any of the BIG 10 games this year? MSU got all they could handle from Western Michigan .... Iowa played nobody .... OSU struggled with everybody except the also overrated UM .... UM lost to basically every marginally tough game on schedule .... Stanford was only decent win and if those 2 play today at a normal time for both teams it is not even close
Again, how would you define "notable win"? Win over a Top 15 program? Top 20? Top 25?

The thing I find interesting is that all of the pointing and slamming of OSU's schedule this year on this board might be settled on the field. There's more and more talk of an OSU-ND matchup in the Fiesta. I hope so !

I think if your smart about it you don't use any one gauge ..... rankings is one of the last gauges I use .... and frankly ... you have to watch some teams play .... see who they play .... how they play against better/worse teams ..... I live in the Midwest and saw a ton of mediocre football by the Big Ten .... both OSU ad especially MSU could just as easily be 8-3 instead of 10-1 .... even playing garbage teams
If ND got matched up with OSU I would expect any point spread to be close .... IF ND was favored I wouldn't expect it to be more than a point or 2 .... and yes ... I likewise would not be surprised if OSU was favored ....none the less .... I think ND even with 8 starters out .... can beat OSU .... ND has proven they are not immune to losing to teams worse than they are ... all things considered even ... if ND plays one of their better games .... they win .... I think they are the better team over all
For the record ... ND fans (generally speaking) are not even close to being the only fan base calling out OSU's garbage schedule ..... that would be almost every other fan base if not every other fan base ... that should tell you something ..... it is not just ND

But here's the catch: it's not any of the other schools that's being mentioned strongly that could end up being OSU's opponent in a bowl. More and more talk about the Fiesta swinging an OSU-ND matchup. I hope so as we'll find out in a hurry how weak that OSU schedule really was this year. I guess all of the speculation and mouthing stops when on-the-field results are examined, huh. Believe me, a ton of other BIG fans have picked up on the Buckeye/BIG downgrading on this board. Please, please God let there be a Buckeye/ND match-up !.

Why do Big Ten fans even care about what's being said on this board? I don't visit other teams' boards because I really don't care what other teams say about ND. Sounds like Big Ten fans should worry less about what random ND fans are saying on an ND board and get a life.
I'm not sure why you feel that if somehow OSU beat ND in a bowl game that it would validate their schedule .... regardless of what OSU does against anybody in any bowl .... that schedule is still garbage .... the only people who apparently don't want to accept that are some OSU fans .... go figure
At least if they beat ND they would finish with one quality win ... lost to your only tough team MSU .... and with their backup QB
As far as the "licking of the chops" and anti-ND sentiment .... whatever .... get in line
