Special Team's play on Sunday night

Did anyone see that field goal block by the Patriots on Sunday night. If I knew how to attach it here, I would. I've never seen anything like that before. Biagi and other ST coaches should seriously consider it going forward. The guy essentially lined up way wide and then ran parallel to the LOS until the snap and then had a free running start to block the kick. It was a brilliant play.

Inside ND Sports has confirmed that 2025 offensive tackle target Matty Augustine and 2025 safety target Ethan Long plan to visit for the Ohio State game on Saturday. You can keep tabs on who is added and confirmed for this weekend on our running visitors list thread.

According to MaxPreps, Greenwich (Conn.) Brunswick, the school Augustine and Long attend, has a game scheduled for this Saturday at 4 p.m. ET. However, Long told me they both plan to be on campus to see the Irish against the Buckeyes.

Long is rated as a four-star prospect. The 6-foot-2, 188-pound safety is ranked as the No. 16 safety in the 2025 recruiting class and reports 19 total offers including Notre Dame, Michigan, Ohio State and Penn State. Long visited the Nittany Lions for their season opener at the start of the month

According to Rivals, Augustine is rated as a three-star and ranked as the No. 32 offensive tackle in the 2025 class. The 6-foot-7, 285-pound recruit holds 25 total offers including Alabama, Florida, Michigan, Miami (Fla.), Ohio State, Penn State, North Carolina and Tennessee. His trip to Notre Dame will be his second game day visit of the season after he visited North Carolina earlier this month.

Both camped at Notre Dame in June and returned in July for Notre Dame's Grill & Chill recruiting event.

Notre Dame mentioned as a top contender for 2026 wide receiver target Madden Williams. The 6-foot-2, 185-pound wide receiver visited campus over the summer and is teammates with 2024 linebacker commit Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa at Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco.

Williams isn't currently rated or ranked but has 17 total offers including Notre Dame, Arizona, Arizona State, Georgia, Oregon, Texas and Washington.

Officiating?

What conference were those guys from? They were awful. It seems to be every week there is one call where you just scratch your head and can't figure out how they made the call or missed the call. The PI on CMU that was picked up was awful. The ND first down that wasn't, then was, then wasn't was just embarrassing. The roughing call on Burnham was very weak especially after watching the dirty hack purposely twist Hartman's knee later in the game. Just awful.
