Yes it appears BK will try to redshirt Wimbush with the press then saying Book is the #3 QB......really? If something happens to both MZ & DK.....I expect Wimbush to be the QB in 2016. Surely BK knows there are zero guarantees Wimbush stays for 5 years any way. Get WINS in 2016 when you can.

According to those who actually attend the practices, BW has more of an upside than the two ahead of him. I've heard it said numerous times during the 2015 season. Since no one here attends any of the practice sessions, all we can do is guess.

The coaches LOVE Wimbush & said it will be hard to keep him off the field. They are red shirting him so he can have 2 full years to start after Kizer/Zaire leave. Then that gives Jurkovec at least 2 (possibly 3) years to start.
Wimbush turned down Bama, OSU etc. to come to ND. He loves it here & the coaches think he will be better than Kizer.

Yes. The guy behind 1 and 2. Apparently, "upside" translates to potential to be better than 1 and 2. This is the opinion of Darin Pritchett and Eric Hansen and they made it known more than once last season. One is his arm. Another is his incredible athletic ability. Another is his smarts. Time will tell.

Well, let's put it this way. Would you rather have your child's teacher say that your child has great "potential" rather than your child has no chance? Everyone has potential at the start. All of us. What we actually do with it is up to us. Same with BW. It's up to him. I'd rather hear that BW has unlimited potential to thrive than hear that this isn't going to happen for him at ND.

I am not aware of any coach saying that BW is better than 1 and 2. I am not aware of any coach saying that any of our QBs are better than the other .....right now. Mike Ditka's comment on "potential" is ironic since his whole football life was based on his potential. He was recruited by Pitt based on his potential to be a contributing college player. He was drafted by the Bears based on his potential to be a good NFL pro. As a coach, he drafted players based on their potential without knowing for sure if they would produce in the NFL. It was all based on potential. So, I'm still not sure what the heck he is talking about.

Based on the 30 for 30 about the Bears, I'm not sure how much Ditka had to do with drafting players, especially defensive players. And once they got there, those defensive players were Buddy Ryan's boys, not Ditka's.
