Seriously, Stanford and Michigan State won't provide enough strength of schedule, no conference championship game to boost the resume, start looking at 2017.
Nice comeback, to bad it wasn't enough.

Clown stomped every time! This is the standard for ND football now. Anyone that thinks this program is going to consistently challenge for the playoff year in and year out is delusional. The reality is this program is at a point where it may get into a New Years six bowl every couple of years and more than likely will be embarrassed by a top tier program that didn't make the playoff.
Wait for the Kool aid clown excusesWith this head coach and this defensive coordinator 8-4 is very likely the ceiling.
Glad Kelly got that extension. That means BVG did as well. Many exciting games to follow in the seasons ahead.
QB decision had nothing to do with this. You score 44 and you should win, regardless of the opponent. This is all on the defense, which stinks year in and year out.seems the big game, big stage, same result.
And it always seems that there is some factor in the result that is not the play on the field or the players, that adds to the calamity: the coach.
Failure to name a starting QB, to allow the starter starters practice, failure to allow the QB to continue in the flow of the game, these are important points. Lack of chutzpah in being reluctant to make an excutive decision.
Join the ACC then. You won't regret it. When you are an independant you don't have a Conference Championship to shoot for even if you lose a game.Seriously, Stanford and Michigan State won't provide enough strength of schedule, no conference championship game to boost the resume, start looking at 2017.

Actually quite a few (at this site) did predict a ND NC run. Some even predicted a 14-0 result. Now if you mean the gurus and sports personalities. NO, none did. Most felt today would come down to the last play and it did....Most predicted that TX might win a close one. Revenge, Home, experience....
No one predicted this would be ND's NC run year.....that was last year. This year is about replacing 16 of 22 starters. There are maybe 2 teams that don't peak and drop after a senior laden team, AL and OSU. Those two do not have the same level of challenges ND puts on coaches. Need a stud LB, go find one at a JUCO...need a 5 star, as long as he makes a D that's passing. ND has to develop players.....this is a dev year for next year.......9-3 likely, 10-2 achievable, 11-1 unlikely but in the relm with Kizer. Give the youngsters a chance to develop and watch this season unfold.
Agree ... 44 points "should" win every time. This wasn't on the offense. It had nothing to do with Malic playing. They stopped Kiser several times. It was on the defense. The entire defense. The DL/LB couldn't tackle and the DB's were getting beat all night. ND is lucky the throws were a tad off or it could have been worse.QB decision had nothing to do with this. You score 44 and you should win, regardless of the opponent. This is all on the defense, which stinks year in and year out.
