Last year OSU ran the ball 63% of the time and passed 37% of the time. Urban says he wants to run the ball more. What do you think BK will do and how do you see the ND run/pass percentages breaking down.

Like him or not Myer is a winner and his play calling has evolved over time.

Different teams and offenses act play calling. I am sure ND will end up with something close to a 50/50 split like they have had historically with the numbers skewed by a couple games where the team runs 70/30.

You design your offense and call your plays to your capitalize on your best strengths. I don't think what OSU is doing, or any other team for that matter, comes into the equation for Brian Kelly.

I hear ya..........and of course, Meyer recruited those "best strengths" with a game plan in mind. Just wondering if at some point (maybe like during recruiting) if BK is thinking about running the ball more?

OSU had a dominant DL and was ahead 90% of the time. ND couldn't stop a nose bleed on defense from the UNC game on.

You can't run the ball 63% of the time if you're trailing on the scoreboard. Try comparing apples to apples

@Duo

Arkansas ran 916 plays from the line of scrimmage last year.

Of those only slightly less than 39% were passing plays. 61% (roughly) were rushing plays.

Arkansas was 7-6 overall and 2-6 in conference play.

Kelly said if you load the box we're going to pass 50 x's if you play straight up we will run 50
x's

That's why defenses are disguised to keep the offense from knowing what they are doing. Of course you know that. I state the obvious because I believe that is where Zaire makes or breaks the season with his ability or inability to read the defenses and make the right calls and look off to the right receivers. It may sound easy, but apparently it isn't. I never played QB. All I had to do was worry about my position. The QB has to read and react to a lot of things.
