Night Game vs Navy in Dublin....... Jack is an Idiot

You clearly don’t understand the scope of the issue.

There’s a reason that NFL teams dislike playing in Europe
You clearly talk out your a**, and in bold, which is arrogant. But I’ll let you alone again, like I did when I found out your age last year. Nothing to be gained arguing with grumpy octogenarian.

I am well aware of the issues with travel, especially internationally. I’m well aware of the schedule for the Ireland trip. I disagree with the OP that the schedule they have planned is doomed for failure against Tenn State. I understand that is a difficult concept for you

Awesome, team will get home about 6 or 7am Sunday morning. He really doesn't care.
They aren't Marshall

Freeman talked about how long their late game and flight issues after Ohio State impacted them, and he felt that impacted their prep and abilities for Marshall and lingered vs Cal.

Whether you believe him or not is up to you, but either way it's not good.
Agree, it's more the lingering @ NC State I would be more concerned with. It's just pointless to be playing a night game in dublin
I don't know because Cal and Stanford happened and they looked a lot like the team we fielded vs Marshall
A loser thread.

You sound like a ..... can't say it on here. Female dog. How is that?

18 to 23 year olds cant recover from an International trip. Get the hell out of here with that soft ass talk

Mindset of a loser. Get ready to play the next game. Man up.

You're freaking weak
You have clearly never traveled across time zones or internationally. From someone who's flown over 100k miles in a single year for over a decade, you have no idea the impact of travel even at a young age.

Iowa never travels. Anywhere.

Should Notre Dame be Iowa?

Grow a pair

Bama 1987

OSU in the mid 90’s and now

Consult your almanac
Once in 40 years, and Notre Dame beat Alabama 37-6, whereas Airzee23 stated that Alabama beat ND. Evidently you lack reading comprehension skills !

Actually I am talking clearly, and I’m talking after having a number of conversations with individuals involved at the core of the international travel issue.

What are your sources ?

Anyone who doesn’t acknowledge the toll (short & intermediate) that playing internationally takes on a football team when they’re scheduled to play the very next week, knows nothing about football and the impact of international travel on performance.

That would be you !

Do you think that traveling to L.A. to play USC is void of any performance issues ?

If what you say is true, why do NFL teams dread playing internationally ?

And, they‘re in better condition than college players who have to attend class.

They dont play internationally in their first game of the year and they arent playing Tn state the week after.

Last time we played overseas was 2012. We went 12 and 1 that season. It really affected us negatively lol

OMG its TN St for cripes sake. These kids are 19-23 year olds, I think they will be ok. I remember when I was 20 partying my ass off getting home at 2-3AM and then going to work at 6. No problem, couldn't do it now for sure, but this is a ridiculous argument. Playing TN St. in 6 days, good grief, LOL
I don’t think you understand college football and preparation… it’s why Thursday games are terrible performances and sloppy normally

Nd should be fine, but it’s not ideal and stupid

"He really doesn't care"

That correct -- I am sure the 1st thing he thinks about when speaking to TV broadcasters is -- "How can I really screw with these guys and piss them off?"

Did it ever occur to you that they may wait until the following day to fly home to avoid the early morning arrival? But then again -- do you ever think?

Sometimes, when I think you cannot make any more idiotic statements - you continue to prove me wrong.
You think coming home the next day is the better choice? Wow

The first through fifth thing jack thinks about is money , that’s it

Yep. I guess Rockne was an idiot too for taking his boys cross country on a train. My grandfather spent three weeks on a troop ship crossing the Atlantic to fight in a war and bitched less about it than Nasty has on this subject.
We’ll that relevant to this in 2023

Every single team can not stand it or Thursday games

It did effect us significantly !

We barely beat a 7 loss Purdue team, only winning by 3 points.
Rees came off the bench to lead a last minute drive resulting in a 27 yard FG with only 7 seconds remaining in the game

You know nothing about football !

We beat a 6 and 7 Pitt team in OT by 3 points that year. Are you going to use travel as an excuse for that?

We beat a 8 and 5 BYU team by 3 points that year. International travel problem there too?

Purdue is much much much better than Tn state

In your ignorance you can deny the impact of international travel and a game the following week all you want.

The fact is that it has a negative impact on performance and it’s highly disruptive.

But you’d probably disagree with the FAA and the Pilot’s union on that point too.

Why are NFL teams averse to it ?

Lol, from the guy that claims to have reading comprehension, you couldn’t understand my brief, clear, and simple post. It wasnt about the effects of travel, it was about the OP and his prediction of the following week.

But I’ll take one more bite.

As for me, I travel extensively. I have the team agenda for this game. Never ideal to travel overseas, but why Tenn State was scheduled the following week. A 4-7 team last year, a 5-6 team in 2021, in the Ohio Valley Conf.

Also checks the woke box of playing a HBCU team. And don’t forget ND first played outside the US in the 70’s.

And now you bring up USC? Lmao

I understand it quite well. If we are talking the NFL I agree, thursday games are stupid. Any team in the NFL can win on any given day. The college game is quite different especially when we are talking TN ST, its not Ohio ST. This is a non issue

2012 Navy. Went 12 and 0 regular season.

Marshall game has nothing to do with this argument. Makes zero sense
We played the game early that year so the team got back at a normal time around midnight, 1am ish

It shouldn’t impact our record but it’s completely unnecessary stress on a really weird stupid schedule with how jack schedules bye weeks … terrible job by the AD…
Couple Dublin start time with playing 8 weeks in a row despite having 2 byes

Agree with you on the questionable schedule. 8 weeks play, bye, 2 games play, another bye

It would appear that your reading comprehension skills continue to be absent because the OP never mentioned or predicted playing TS the following week in his opening post.

Scheduling TS is a separate issue from the travel issue.
Traveling great distances is always problematic, whether it’s to L.A. or Ireland.
There are reasons why NFL teams don’t like playing in Europe.

If you’re from the East coast and you’ve traveled to L.A and you’ve engaged in an athletic competition, which I doubt, you’d know that there are challenges created by traveling distances, especially distances involving multiple time zone changes.

So continue laughing at yourself.

That’s such a flawed analogy

And what happened after your grandfather arrived in Europe, was he rushed into combat the next day or was he staged ?

Did he engage in combat for a day, then board a troop ship for more travel and then engage in more combat when the troop ship landed ?

Anyone who doesn’t think that extensive travel doesn’t impact performance and lead to injuries isn’t playing with a full deck !
