When the next game is two or three weeks removed the impact of traveling that distance is minimized, but playing the next week creates problems.
They aren't Marshall
Freeman talked about how long their late game and flight issues after Ohio State impacted them, and he felt that impacted their prep and abilities for Marshall and lingered vs Cal.
Whether you believe him or not is up to you, but either way it's not good.
They were emotionally spent. That simple. He doesn’t yet have the capability to manage that better (something BK did). But he is able to get them up for a Clemson and OSU better than BK did
The “flight issues from Columbus” is crap.
If they lose to Tenn. St. because they had a night game in Ireland the week before, we’ll then there are A LOT more issues that 8 hour later flight may have caused!

OMG its TN St for cripes sake. These kids are 19-23 year olds, I think they will be ok. I remember when I was 20 partying my ass off getting home at 2-3AM and then going to work at 6. No problem, couldn't do it now for sure, but this is a ridiculous argument. Playing TN St. in 6 days, good grief, LOL
NC State is tough at home. They have given opposing teams fits in the past. I expect the trend to continue.
Interesting they’re not playing overseas in week zero, allowing for some extra rest time. That said, should be able to manage the travel against TN State. NC State is two weeks after the trip to Ireland, if they lose travel is a bogus reason. NC state is just a tough early season road game before Ohio State.

Pat, Golson5 probably never traveled internationally. Add in the fact they just played a physical game of football, it may not be enough time to recover.

What about the disruption caused by the flight to Ireland, the difficulty in adjusting to the time zone changes, twice, sleep and eating patterns ?
And then there’s the FAA.
Does the FAA place restrictions on pilots who fly internationally ?
