Fully expecting losses to Duke, SC (blowout) and Clemson. L’ville likely as well. “Best chance in years” lol

Yeah, a REAL experienced college football coach...

Just what we need, another flavour-of-the-month suggestion...

What about PJ Fleck?
How about Marc Dantonio, Justin Fuente, or Tom Herman? They were the flavors in 2016 when everyone and their mother wanted Brian Kelly fired.

Fans are the same everywhere. What have you done for me lately? You lost at home by a very close score to a very good team. Is Ohio State beatable? I think and hope so but there is no shame in losing to them. If you lost a game like that to Indiana or Purdue I could understand the reaction.

WRONG !

And that’s a loser mentality !

The coaches lost that game !

At that critical juncture, how can you only have 10 defenders on the field …. TWICE ?

And, after a time out AND an incomplete pass ?

Total incompetence !

You don’t pay coaches millions of dollars for them to be incompetent !

Just way too many selfish and/or stupid fans.

I too am worried about a complete collapse. They're going to have a let down next week. And I think some of the players are questioning the coaching

Oh for gosh sakes...these "woe is me" posters are more annoying than most 'Nut fans and Wolvie Ivan. Which is saying a lot since I absolutely detest OSU and its fanbase.

This team isn't going to roll over and hasn't reached their potential. Hard lessons learned last night by both the staff and players. I expect them to learn and grow from this loss. I feel sorry (kinda) for Duke...they will feel the brunt of the Irish fury next week!

It is human nature on full display. How many losses at Alabama before their would fans turn on Saban? I mean he should get a pass for a few in any one year but fans just don't have that sort of tolerance for disappointment. Now, Iowa fans and their anger toward the Ferentz family act is understandable. It hasn't and won't work. They have earned the right to burn the house down. Notre Dame fans need to let things play out for a couple years before calling for the man's head. By the way, it's unbearable to visit PSU boards after a loss. Wouldn't it be wonderful if there were a greater sense of graciousness in both victory and defeat?

We actually gained more national respect after last night, judging by what I've been reading. Because Ohio State's recognized as one of the top teams in the country.

Then, think of the respect we would have earned had we won

I see yesterday's game as a positive despite the loss
I believe Duke is going have to deal with a pissed off Irish team

The manner of the loss is devastating. But I see a focused and angry team coming to Durham on Saturday. The team has a lot of talent and a whole season in front of them. The coaching and situational decision making has to improve at the top.

How can Pat occasionally be so annoying and most of the time on point? He’s a rubix cube. He can sit at my dinner table. I accept him with his foibles cause who don’t have em? Maybe he can teach me how to type loud

Duke looks a little dangerous on the road, but what is up with all this Louisville apprehension? I like Brohm, but come on. They are a 9-3 team at best.

Message boards attract the fans most in need of screaming in public after a loss. That is their purpose.

Most ND, PSU, etc fans are disappointed with a loss, but it doesn't affect the rest of their weekend.

If if that was true we wouldn't have dropped in the polls
Don't underestimate the "no love" factor in the media/coaches .......if you have Surius radio you heard it on full display this morning....you would of thought the Irish were favored big time before the game

I’m available on Monday and Wednesday nights ! 👍. 😜

As I’ve said, Marcus won’t recover from this blunder. You guys can continue your jock riding, I’ll contend that he won’t be on the sidelines at ND to start the ‘25 season

So what will his record be this regular season?

He is going to have to tank soon to be fired by the end of next year. I don't see anything worse than 9-3 this year. 10-2 much more likely. Which means he would need to go something like 6-6 or worse next year for ND to even consider replacing him.

Every coach deserves 3 years, I would give MF 5. Most coaches have a huge network, people that follow them.

Heck, most of us in business that move jobs take our best people with us. When i was young, I had no "best people". I had to make them.

MF needs to look at how each position is playing and recruiting and make tough choices. He needs to have a backup plan at each spot with a pot of cash.

I think (hope) we have the right guy, checking all the boxes, came up 4" short. Yea, the coaches screwed up that last at bat. But he is pulling recruiting up and if we had a few more big time players at Saftey, LB and WR...would that have been a 35-10 game?

What are you willing to bet on that ?

Ehhhh, I dunno, maybe say $5k to the charity of your choice, Pat? And vice versa? Or a volunteer opportunity of some sort? Anything that gives back to others and doesn’t go to you. Name the bet….

That is more than likely your wish rather that fact and it's not going to happen.
Far from my wish. That would mean the program is failing. Far from what I’d like to see happen. But the university has made coaching mistake after coaching mistake. Brian was the right man at the right team, but held onto way too long. I knew he wasn’t the guy with “get used to it.” Marcus and Tommy were the easy choices. Of course I want Marcus to succeed, but 10 men on the field is his “get used to it.” He ain’t it buddy, as much as you want him to be.
