Week 6 F+ Update: 8 of 10 Top 10 teams in the country are SEC & BIG10 | Notes about Notre Dame/College Football

Thanks for posting this. I haven't done recent research on the FPI system but it looks like they've become more transparent with how the system works and are including more components in their system now.

I still think you never got the point I was trying to make though: I wasn't saying that FPI was based on the simulations, but rather that the simulation-results were based on each team's FPI. And that FPI was built to feed its simulation-engine (and predict how the games and season would play out based on each teams likeliness to win or lose games) where F+ was built matter of fact to describe how team stacks up from 1-130+
But the FPI ranking also ranks the teams from 1-130+, based on their strengths. It just happens to also have the predictions stuff, too.

I get that. Based on the research ive done on the topic (albeit old research), I still think F+ is more comprehensive as it relates to the 1-130+ rankings though. But I'm open/flexible/convincible if I see some kind of evidence or results that prove otherwise.

I don't understand why people bitch so much about Chase posting. If he didn't post, along with Golson, and a few others, where would this board be? In the grave, that's where.

At least he puts effort into his posts and refrains from name-calling and childlike behavior.
The stuff he posts is crap. Waste of time and effort to post and read... that's why.

Sorry buddy, but I feel like most people genuinely don't like you or your data. That's OK though, I think you are probably just misunderstood (like most revolutionaries). Once we foment our insurrection, we'll have this board goose-stepping in no time!
Yo Chass! Digging up a real old handle…

You are probably just conflating us because we are so unified in our cause of making Notre Dame football great again, through the use of statistics, message boards, truth, pitchforks, and castle storming. I think we need more than two people though, so if all of you could join us, that would be super helpful. Thanks.

member since 2004 with 24 posts.. nice. Welcome to the fray.

Thanks. Most of those are from today! I think I just got swept up in the wave of revolution in addition to seeing how few times I had posted, It just made me kinda wonder what I have been doing with my life for the last 20 years. The bonus is I went from being "new here" to being an official ND fan. So that was good. Now I am remembering why I haven't posted much lo these many years...message-boarding is hard work. First you have to think of something to say and then you have to type it. It's a little bit much for me. Plus it doesn't seem like we will be usurping anytime soon, so I may have to go back in to hibernation. Wake me up when the insurrection starts, or when Notre Dame is forced to be great again. In the meantime, feel free to join the crusade. One of us! One of us!

Let it die if this is all we got. Would be interesting to see the direction the board would take with out the monopolization of these two.
This board would be far more productive without those two.
Chase disparages ND at every opportunity. Claims the administration doesn't invest enough into the football program, yet has no clue what they are spending. lol can't make this stuff up.

Golson, claims to be a top college football analyst, who also claims he can evaluate players better than NFL scouts, yet he's wrong more than he's right.. Add in any valuable content he does provide is copied from other sites that can easily be found with a simple search.

Still lying I see 🤣🤣

The board would be better off without you and your bf. You offer nothing

I think im going to start including FPI information when doing these F+ updates from here on out .. i had no clue the system had become this robust over time .. thanks again for your input in this thread

To many teams for the system to be effective. And college players still to young to have the pro mindset. While there are still trap games and travel factors in NFL. College players still to inconsistant emotionally to play a big game and then go out a give "professional" performances week in week out. These analytic systems are very similar to Beyer speed figures in horse racing. Ill give a perfect example. Horse in Keenland 3rd Wednesday named Invulerable was a 6/5 morning line fav with a superior Beyer fig to Normandy Hero who was 4-1 but what Vets like me knew was NH had faced much tougher horses in his races and Inv. faced lower comp. They both actually went off at similar odds by post time and NH beat Inv in a duel down the stretch.
