No doubt there. We'll see if Golson flourishes without the pressure Kelly seems to put on his QBs or just winds up being as inconsistent as he was for us last year.

Without Golson FSU would likely be 10-2 with a better chance of being 9-3 than 11-1. With Golson FSU will likely be 10-2 with better chance of going 11-1 than 9-3. IMHO

The part where Fisher says he's not " short leashing " anyone. I guess he is implying Kelly did that to Golson. Ok so other than his first year when exactly did he pull Golson? He played every game last year even when he was turning the ball over at a record pace. It wasn't until the 2nd quarter of the USC game where he finally pulled Golson. I don't know what Fisher is talking about. Hey , Golson is his problem now. Believe me, I wanted Golson to succeed at ND. He left because he wasn't named the starter. That says a lot about him. he basically bailed on his team. A team he knew was returning a ton of talent and expierence. Yet he still left. That's fine. As far as I'm concerned he isn't mentally tough enough to lead. The minute things go wrong he pouts. FSU will see this first hand. ND on the other hand has a QB in Zaire that is energetic and will lead. Wait and see, this kid reminds me of Tony Rice. There is a quality in him that is infectious. The team will feed off that and I think will have a great year.

Bingo..... someone asked if Golson was on a short lease because of his history of turnovers. Jimbo simply responded saying be doesn't operate that way. He wasn't insinuating Kelly did. Jimbo is not like that. Jimbo will handle Golson his way. His track record with QB's speaks for itself.
If Golson starts turning the ball over and Jimbo doesn't feel the risk exceeds the reward he will eventually sit him. If Golson is making more positive plays than negative ones he'll stick with him and continue the development. It's not complicated. Jimbo will play the QB he thinks will give FSU the best chance to win.

Sorry it's not a fabrication. I guarantee , if Kelly said Golson was our starting QB, do you really think he would have left? He said both QBs would play. I'm sure that didn't sit well with Golson since he was the entrenched starter last season. Also he most likely went to FSU because he knew he would be the starting QB. Why would he leave to go sit on the bench? As far as the " watch list " Kanye West is on that list also. That has nothing to do with anything. He still has to play at a high level at FSU. We will all see how he does. I don't really care one way or another how he does. Zaire is the QB I am watching. I stand by my post. Simply put , I think Golson is a baby and he pouts when things go wrong. If he didn't turn the ball over 22 times last year, maybe he'd still be " the guy" .

I'm not seeing any bashing of Golson on here?? Just the short leash comments but I was a huge fan of EG and thought Zaire should have replaced him sooner. He may have been the starter but no doubt Zaire would have played quite a bit..a la LSU MVP performance. EG didn't want anything to do with that, he flat out packed it in early, stopped chasing his own fumbles/interceptions. Pouted on the sidelines, 7-5, 12-0, don't care, I would yank that kind of player every time. He is super talented and will have great success at FSU, I think all the TOs were a freak deal.
I will be rooting for FSU to lose every game Golson starts. I cant stand FSU.

Ok I'm not going to get into a debating match with anyone here. Yes, you are correct about Golson being the starter. I need to clarify what I was saying. Basically he was going share playing time with Zaire this year. I believe that did not sit well with him. That is my main point. I personally have nothing against him and I do wish him well. He did graduate. Kelly stuck with him all year when other coaches would have sat him sooner. Again just my opinion. This team has the potential to go far this year. Having a talented and expierence do QB would have even made that more so. It is easy it is. Good luck to him.
I am elated that Golson chose FSU just like I thought Russell Wilson made a great choice in going to Wisconsin.
