Fighting Kelly’s of LSU

He didn't do any of those things. All you're doing with these posts is making yourself look more and more like a pathological hater, which you obviously are, and saying nothing about BK. It's not subtle in the slightest, and you're patently desperate to watch him burn. On the one hand, you have BK, super successful CFB coach, just got a huge contract in the SEC, on account of how great he did at ND. And on the other hand there's you, and virtually all of the rest of visible ND fanbase, acting like, I don't even know how to describe it anymore. How much of it is your own sickness, or whatever, just the mob that you're a part of, and that you don't dare defy. Everybody says we're a 'tribal' species, and I don't really agree with that, but maybe this unaccountable explosion of loathing for BK is an exquisite manifestation that proves the rule or something.

Just ask yourself this, what if you had occasion to meet BK, and sit next to him on a plane for six hours or something. What would you do with yourself? Would you lose your composure, would you be able to handle the situation? For someone like you, obviously you would play it cool, and just be extremely self-conscious the whole time. Or at least attempt to. What if you couldn't handle it? And they had to call the air marshals and land the plane and get you off? You'd probably hate him even more. I literally have to speak to you as if I'm Jesus or something. And give you some trite little moral homily, that's how off the rails you are. Turn the other cheek. Don't bear false witness. Love your neighbor as you would yourself. And you're a ND fan.....
What a load of BS. You have your head so far up bk's a$$ its sickening. Who are you? His wife, mistress, bff?

What would you do? I think you're in your case you couldn't handle it. You'd flip. I don't know what you'd do exactly, but you would not be able to maintain. And as soon as they came to get you you'd start sobbing uncontrollably.

He's actually drafting the explanation for his shortcomings to the powers that be at LSU to save his job. I'm sure he'll be throwing his players and assistants under the bus, and telling them he needs a couple of more years to get his "RKG's" in the program. We all know his M.O. we've seen it for 12 years. The only difference, BK won't have the luxury of a weak schedule that he had at ND the last 4 years of his tenure.
If Brian Kelly is such a lousy head coach as you say, why did Father Jenkins and HmJack Swarbjck allow him 12 seasons in Siuth Bend?

First, I never said he was lousy, he's a good coach, he's just not a great coach. He's a politician first and foremost. He should have been fired after that disastrous 4-8 season, 7 years into his tenure. Swarbrick had compassion for him and gave him guidance on hiring assistants. Couple that with weaker schedules, and BK 2.0 was born. Unfortunately he was still horrible vs ranked opponents, especially top 10 opponents. You can put as much lipstick on a pig as you want, but at the end of the day it's still a pig.

I didn't say he is a lousy head coach......I said he's a paper tiger in crunch time. And I said he passes himself off as elite when he isn't. And....as an added bonus since you asked....He's still a prick.

Alright man, whatever. If I saw BK on a plane, and had some ND hat on, or whatever, I wouldn't say a thing, even though I'd love to chat him up for a bit. I'd just leave the guy in peace. His heart probably sinks if he sees anyone that looks like they might be a ND fan....

And did you just reply to yourself, and so you're having a conversation with yourself? Is that a thing on social media? I guess maybe it is.

Nah, 99% of ND fans arent on message boards & dont take it as serious as most of us. Plus a public setting most people still have manners. Im sure most of his interactions with ND fans are pleasant. A couple of my friends met him post ND & they said he was gracious and charming. I always thought he would make a great analyst. He could rehab his imagine, make the same amount of money & ride off into the sunset.

I did say the visible fan base. Meaning online fans. And now you feel the need to defend ND. As if ND is untouched by any of this, and is as pristine and golden as ever, and you will have your cake and eat it too, whatever antics it's less dignified element gets up to. The minions on social media who attack BK so viciously that's it's affecting his career at LSU are one thing, and the ND Nation website, totally dominated by ND alums, which is where all this started, being the main culprit. But don't ever think that accrues to ND itself, which I never said it did. And now you find yourself admitting, by way of your elegant friends that he's a swell guy, charming and gracious, why that's wonderful! In any case, let's be clear, BK has nothing to fear from any ND alum, they're all just milktoasts anyway.

I wonder what HST would think about BK. You think he'd hate him? He was a football fan. Kind of like me he might have some shit to say about the angry mob in the arena that drives and sustains the bloodsport, and some muscular prose about how you don't want to ever get on the wrong side of it. And now you're part of that mob. Except when you're not. When you're having drinks with him at the VIP bar.....

Kelly survived worst seasons at ND ...

That SEC slate is no joke .. LSU will still be in the top 20ish teams in F+ (poor record due to really good competition and some bad luck) .. they lost their OC and some first round talent on offense but they have a top 5 class incoming in 2025 .. if he can keep this incoming '25 class better days are ahead for LSU
Let’s bump this….

How is Bryce doing? Chass, YOU JUST TOLD US THIS WEEK THAT BRYCE TURNED DOWN $10.75M

Lololololololol

its too soon to say. I like what LSUs AD is doing far more than what NDs AD is doing so far (as it relates to competing for national titles)

BK is going to have material to work with he's never had ever at ND with this incoming '25 class including the #1 overall player in the country incoming. I think that program has a ton of upside if they can keep up this kind of recruiting momentum and stack some back to back classes the quality of there incoming '25 class.
This hasn't aged well. So much for that top ranked class. It's falling apart.

It screams Freeman is over-achieving while Kelly is underachieving. Full-stop.

ND trajectory looks much brighter than that of LSU.

I disagree with this. The recruiting/incoming talent at LSU in 2025 is in another tier entirely and this has to be taken into consideration.

ND and LSU have had similar productivity when you adjust for opponent quality and luck (F+) over the last several years and LSU has a better incoming class in 2025 (as presently constructed).

I think LSU/BK has more upside going forward based on the better talent they have incoming and how well you attract talent is part of the HCs job.

How we feeling about this today Chase - ND trajectory looking much brighter than LSU or neaux? Yes or no is acceptable no reason to bloviate on such a simple question.

LSU still has the #6 class in the country to NDs #12 class. LSU still has 2 other 5-star commits in '25 to NDs zero 5-star commits. LSU still has a 30+ year tenured head coach in Brian Kelly with a long track record of producing above the baseline that his talent suggests that he should.

If I had to make a best guess at what program has a brighter future at this point, my money is still on LSU/Brian Kelly. If we're going to evaluate these two programs into the future, its important that we use a metric that adjusts for opponent quality though (like F+) because the schedules are vastly different in terms of the level of competition.

ND is still 9 and 1 while LSU is still 6 and 4

ND has Marcus Freeman as the head coach while LSU still has Brian Kelly

Advantage ND

If I’m Vandy…smelling blood in the water. This could be a really interesting game. Does LSU rally and take out all their frustration on underdog Vandy, or does Vandy smell blood and exploit the LSU OL and pull off another upset? Kelly simply has to come out of this game with a win at home.

Brian Kelly tends to have seasons where he's all in or all out (thinking of some of the up and down seasons during the first half or so of his ND career).

LSU literally has nothing to play for at this point. It wouldn't surprise me if they've collectively mailed it in and LSU has one of those seasons where the bottom just kind of falls out from under it only to return next year refreshed and better than ever.

I am glad Kelly is gone. He always made excuses why he couldn't compete. He leaves Freeman's staff has brought in top notch defensive backs. The roster seems to be deeper then in the recent past. Kelly turning purple on the side lines wore my ass out. Good luck down in the bayou...

Especially Clark Lea knows Kelly’s go to plays. Like the deep fade in the end zone.

That would say quite a bit about their coach eh? Look at Bill Napier, they could have mailed it in but did not. I bet Napier is at Florida longer than Kelly at LSU. You would think Kelly and his 30yrs of experience would know better.

You've clearly never played, or for that matter been involved in sports other than as a spectator. You're such a fool. BK, the staff, and the players just mailing it in. 😂

I think they should fire BK at this point. He can take his 60 million buyout, on top of the 30 million he's already earned, and retire, and sit on his pile of money, of 'generational wealth'. Thanks to ND fans, LSU fans have become equally bonkers and almost violently agitated over a three game losing streak. And they can replace their hated 'yankee' coach with someone hailing from south of the Mason Dixon line. Personally, I thought he was doing great. He took a legit dumpster fire program in total disarray, that he inherited from cajun favorite son Ed O., and had them in the SECCG first season. Recruited and developed a Heisman winner, who's probably even better than their beloved Joe Burrow. And was 6-1 this season before an improbable 2nd half comeback loss to A&M, and now the wheels have fallen off a bit, but it's not that god-awful of a crisis, and they stand at 6-4. And of course the bigger blow, losing BU. To a massive NIL deal that LSU wasn't able/going to match, that had absolutely nothing to do with BK himself. But he is the coach, so he does have to bear the blame anyway. He was not able to somehow save the situation, with some last minute in home visit or something. So that's his fault too.

So they should fire him. And just eat the money. And they learned their lesson. Don't hire BK!

If BK wanted him bad enough he could have matched Michigan's offer by donating 1 year of his salary to the LSU NIL collective . If winning a national championship is that important to BK what's a measley 10 million for the 100 million dollar man?

The cajuns aren't going to put up with BK with 3-4 losses every year. He has one more year left. Another mediocre season and they will fire his ass. Couldn't happen to a bigger D-bag.

I would make a wager on Brian Kelly not making it past 5 years at LSU. He's got 1-2 years left to show something. Another non-playoff year and he's probably done. You can talk all you want about his 2025 class, but starting next season, he's coaching with all the players he recruited or brought in from the portal. He no longer has an excuse of a rebuild. With the portal and zero restrictions at LSU a rebuild should happen much quicker than 4-5 years.

So here's what I propose chase. If Kelly gets fired or leaves LSU at the end of Brian Kelly's 5th season, you refrain from criticizing or posting anything negative about Notre Dame, the staff, the players, recruiting, and the administration for a period of two years. If Kelly is still coaching LSU in year 6, I'll leave the board for 2 years.

The reality is, from 2010-2017, 2/3 of his tenure, he averaged 4.1 losses per year. The last 1/3 of his tenure 2018-2021 he was the beneficiary of weaker schedules. He's not a great coach, he's a good coach, and he's being exposed in the SEC.

A loss to Vandy is looming. That would be four in a row. If reports that Kelly has lost the locker room are accurate, then they will lose that game too, in front of 100k fans and their water bottles. Kelly is on very thin ice, and its a beautiful thing. His snide shots at ND after he got to LSU haven't gone anywhere.....nor has his creepy dancing. He earned all of what is happening right now.

Mailing it in? OK.....10 mil is some expensive postage......

At this point, Michigan would be smart to offer Kelly a 5 yr $10m per contract, and Kelly would be smart to take it. I just think Kelly would be more successful and personally happier in the Big 10 vs. LSU and the SEC. His arrogance and politician in waiting way of expressing himself are not playing well at LSU; and despite my dislike for him personally and disdain for the way he left ND, I think he would be a good match for the football program, the Michigan fan base and administration. I think LSU would waive any financial cost for Kelly to take a job elsewhere.

Like them or not.....Michigan has championship aspirations. Kelly failed to deliver at Notre Dame....and its rinse and repeat at LSU. Michigan wouldn't want Brian Kelly because they already had their "all time winningest coach who never won a title".....Schembechler.

Yeah, SO FIRE HIM. Because we're at that point. He's going to get the money no matter what happens so just do it now. If what you're saying is true and they're just going to lose at least three games every season anyway then simply fire him now. FIRE HIM NOW. FIRE HIM NOW.

FIRE HIM NOW. You beginning to get it? There's no reason to wait. You're prolonging the inevitable. You're not saving any money. FIRE HIM NOW. What happens to LSU at that point, I don't know, they hire some new coach. LSU is a destination job, they'll get a good one. He'll an inherit a full roster full of, if not super elite, very much upper tier legit SEC talent. Young talent from the '23 class on up. And then just get on with your life. But LSU fans are worse now than ND fans when it comes to apoplectic BK hating, which they picked up from you. Only difference being they're actually in the throes of a losing streak. Psychos like you were getting your torches and pitchforks ready while we were in the midst of qualifying for the 4 team playoff.

If they have to pay multiple buyouts both to Coach O., and BK, that's just LSU's lot in life, because they don't tolerate losers. That'd be classic if they hired MF, and he took Denbrock and Golden with him.
