ACC 2025 Football Schedule

I'm not so sure if sos won't be a factor to some degree moving forward. Especially the Irish. If we find ourselves on the bubble with an sec or big10 team... I can't imagine they'd choose notre dame over a michigan or alabama for example.

i just hate playing these boring acc teams... lol.
Bubble? In that case we are a 2 loss team jostling with other 2 loss teams for the prestigious #12. Better to schedule wins and manufacture 11-1 type teams that will host a round one game.

That is my point. If we're a 2 loss team up against a 2 loss SEC or BIG team with higher SOS... we're not going to to chosen for that final 12 spot. And sooner or later we're going to find outselves at 11-1 and be on that bubble simply because our SOS is dragging us down in the rankings.

You just may get your wish. Negotiations are apparently underway where ND would play Miami, FSU and Clemson more frequently are part of a new ESPN contract.

As part of the extension, the league’s biggest brands — Florida State, Miami and Clemson — are expected to play more football games regularly with Notre Dame. The Irish are expected to play, at the very least, two of the three each season in a rotation.

My wish is we wouldn't play hardly any ACC teams. Its an odd arrangement in my opinion. Unless any of those teams suddenly get decent, which they very well could with NIL, they're uninteresting games. Maybe i'm wrong though.

Id rather take two games with each of the conferences, which we're almost there, and dump the ACC arrangement.

The entire reason we are playing five ACC schools every season is that we couldn't put together a schedule such as you have described. And if you look at the 2025 schedule, for example, you will note that the back half of the schedule is when we play the ACC opponents. Schools from the Big 10, Big 12 and SEC are not likely to schedule ND during the midst of their conference play.

There will soon be a 14 team playoff. SOS will matter even less then.

11-1 ND is always in this playoff.

But even in a wacko year like 2021 where we fielded a lame 11-1 team; is it really a loss if ND doesn't get to be crushed in a playoff game?

Yeah... I know we have trouble scheduling the conferences in and I know its a pipe dream. I will say that beginning next year, the schedule does look a bit tougher moving forward.
