I think this article gives reason for optimism for 2025 and going forward. ND does a good job holding onto its best players. In addition to what ND added via portal, I think this is a very talented team.

As usual, the article points out the need for elite QB play. Excited to see what Minchey or Carr can do.

My favorite guy to read of all the true ND beat guys.

I would not characterize the QB that played at Ohio St. in 2024 as elite.

That looked way too long and tedious to wade through. Sounded like it was going to be a rehashing of the 'stars matter' principle of CFB recruiting. With a new NIL twist that you might be better off keeping your roster together, if you're a big dog, and spending your NIL budget on that, rather than enticing too many transfers out of the portal. Which, sure, I guess, absolutely. That's definitely a viable strategy for success. I mean obviously you don't want to let your best, most promising or reliable players leave at a top program, by not paying them enough. Does that count as common sense, or what is that?

The stars matter argument is so mind numbing at this point it is hard to keep recycling it and reimagining it and have it not fry your brain. But with the portal and NIL, you can put new spins on it. I think Tommy Tubberville said it best, back before he was a US senator, recruiting is trying to predict the future, is what he said. And whether they're five stars or walk ons, just give me great players. And it's on you as a coach to find them and sign them. And find the right ones, find the good ones. Everything else is bullshit.

Okay, it's obvious you didn't watch the playoffs.
Just because you play very well with a stacked roster doesn't make you an elite QB. And over a 4 game sample size. We have his whole career to judge and saw what the NFL thought of him

Good college QB, not elite. Burrow,Daniels, Williams....that's elite

Dude.... my comment was a sarcastic dig at sjb. He made an uninformed post offering no evidence for his opinion and I did the same back to him. You do not need to take everyone's post so seriously.

That's impressive we have the most blue chips still on the roster from the 23 and 24 recruiting classes

I know we do a great job at retention but still

Bama Texas am and Georgia are struggling retaining their top players right now

Seems like you got a hold of what elite means..we can now stop with Estime being elite

Seems like you just used a bad example since NDs team didnt have much help around Estime.

Really bad wr room, te that got hurt, good OL but not a Joe Moore award type

And he had as good or better year than Love and Kyrens.

1341 yards 18 tds 6.4ypc

Thanks for bringing that up. It got me remembering again how good he was that year

👍

Estime was a good to even very good CFB RB. Ashton Jeanty was elite last season, I believe Jeremiyah Love to be elite. Audric Estime was not an elite RB.

That was an interesting piece. Thanks for posting.

I especially loved his take on Bryce Young. I am expecting big things from Bryce this year. He could be a great one.
