Chase Claypool

He's not a top coach. Not even close.
The organization is top shelf but what has he accomplished since this has been 101 percent his guys.
Won a super bowl with Cowher's players.
Lost a SB with most of his players.

Hasn't sniffed the SB since this team has been all his. Good regular seasons are a college staple.
In the professional league known as the NFL regular seasons are just one part of success. Playoff performance...especially for the Steelers is an expectation.

He's the press conference champion and nobody even comes close. He's undefeated at the podium alright but a top coach he's not. 17 unsuccessful challenges in a row....WOW... Thats incredible.

The Steelers however are married to him. The Rooney rule ... they'll get so much shit over this if they'd dismiss him.
Tomlin leaves on his own or nothing. He's not getting fired.
So he's been to 2 super bowls with 1 win. Makes the playoffs all the time and has never had a losing record as a head coach.

Yeah he sucks

LOL...the ones on TV are the ONLY ones and nobody will say boo about the press conference champ.

I LIVE in Western Pennsylvania and there aren't tons of fans that want to keep him.
More like MEGA tons that have seen enough and ready for a new chapter.
And he'd be the number 1 target for any team looking for a HC

15 years at a place is impressive but you’re either getting better or worse…. He’s clearly in a decline
He won 8 or 9 games with Mason Crosby. That's a hell of a great right there.

And a washed Ben this year

Impressive

Don't start being that 5 year old...nobody said he sucks...
BUT...
The Steelers as an organization is the bar. They're the model for success. Interested in good character people, smart decisions, hard work, and a win long term mentality with stability. They won't succumb to players strong arming them nor over pay for a star free agent. They're not impulsive whatsoever but they're steady.

An NFL team has many moving pieces unlike college. Salary cap, the draft, free agency, roster sizes, and so on.
Kevin Colbert and the Rooney's before as executives have done things in a model way.

With all that said you're putting entirely way too much credit just on Tomlin. It's a blueprint model in the NFL to be successful. The Steelers don't play musical coaches and win as a collective effort of the organization. Any decent coach with good character can succeed in the Steelers organization.

While I can give credit to Tomlin for not messing that organization up,(they'd never let that happen anyways) when you examine all the intricate details of a game he's not giving his team any kind of edge. Without being sarcastic he lost 11 straight challenges at one point...(you lose a timeout if you didn't know) he's faced hardly any adversity since being the coach. (He inherited a HOF QB and it's the only one he's ever had) has had many regular seasons that were successful but when the game tightens (playoffs) what advantages is he offering? Since the Steelers have exclusively been all his guys (minus Roethlisberger) his playoff success has been uninspiring to say the least.

He's not an awful coach but he's definitely not a ...what did you call him...a top coach? No. Sorry.

Actually....Get Nasty said he is awful. That is worse than sucks. So you're wrong again

And yes he's a top coach

I think you mean mason rudolph, shouldn’t have forgot that name it’s the season.

Pittsburgh has unbelievable talent in a week division the last 5-10 years.

Tomlin used to get his players to run through a wall for him, now there’s no energy or passion other than wanting more Tik tok music played at practice

He’s not as respected

Yes Rudolph. Winning 8 games with him was miraculous.

Hes very respected

Tomlin is a horrible HC. Zero control over his team. He rode on the coat tails of Bill Cowher for a few years and now that everything is gone from that era... he hasn't done squat in Pittsburgh. The players don't respect or fear Tomlin. They do and say whatever they want, often times poisoning the entire team. Its been one soap opera after another there. Claypool is just fitting in with the rest with the gangster and diva environment that Tomlin created and fosters.
