25 Starters

Psu scored 24 after averaging 33 for the year. They only had 339 yards of offense for the game. One of their lowest of the season.

Louisville had 395 yards and 5.2 yards per player which was the same as our offense did. Louisville averaged 36.2 ppg for the year and had 24 points against us

The point you are trying to make is not the point you are trying to make. Another fail
I never said our D was bad, i said our D wasn't as good as it looked on paper. That's pretty much the exact quote I said.

That showed itself exactly as I mentioned vs PSU and OSU. If we had that good of a D, penn state and osu wouldn't have had such easy scores and easy ability to run the ball.

agreed.

They went into a prevent type of defense to keep everything in front of them and sacrificed yards in the passing game to keep the clock moving and missed on some open-filled tackles they make 99 times out of 100 going forward. When they went up by three touchdowns early in the third quarter there wasn't a single person on planet Earth who thought Notre Dame had any chance to win that game.. despite Notre Dame's multiple touchdowns in the third and fourth quarter to close out the game they were at no point greater than a 5% win probability during the entire second half of the game

It was a pretty dominant one-sided win I'm part of OSU not to the same extent as the Alabama 2012 game but dominant one-sided victory on part of OSU nonetheless
Disagree. ND won the first and fourth quarters. We played like S in the middle two. We were one pass away from tying it. So, you are wrong here.

KVA will be our best LB next year and probably by a decent margin. I'm not counting out Knapp. He may start at guard or center.
Agree that KVA will be good. Bowen will be an NFL player. He is that good.

After all the numerous injuries, yes it showed like it would for any team

If we had all the injuries and those 6 you mentioned were bad players our D would have been awful

It wasn't. Those kids played well

Win 11 games and you're in the tournament. We still have 1 game to add. Should be an easier game early if they are smart

Will be interesting as the opener date has not been set yet. If they play it (Miami) on Labor Day evening (9.1.2025), will make for a very short week for game 2 -- with Texas A&M on the horizon in week 3. Not sure when the ACC will announce the actual date.

A few comments. Raridon at TE could be an injury waiting to happen. Does Cooper Flanagan have eligibility? Does the new frosh from GREEN BAY - James Flanigan get pt? Gee, 2 flan(I or a) gans.

Linebackers I think is a rotation of the 2 u mention plus Bowen, the kid from Louisiana A——, and madden

O line -

I don't see ND playing a game week 2. Right now NC State and Syracuse are two ND home games that do not have dates. Both NC State and Syracuse have a game scheduled for week #2. ND does need a 12th game so they could slot in a weak opponent that week (see how that worked out last year with NIU?) or just leave it blank.....take your first bye week #2 and your second likely October 11th. They would then play 7 straight weeks to end the regular season. Not ideal....play one....week off...play 4 week off...play 7 but other option would be October 11th (week before USC) off as well as what....November 15th off?

This is what delusional homers who can't accept reality do: They start doing mental gymnastics looking for ANY excuse to keep their faulty view/belief system intact even as the evidence mounts against it.

ND got smoked by OSU from quarter 1 through quarter 4. ESPN has a win probability % that takes into account many factors. Once OSU answered NDs 1st possession with a touchdown of their own (gashing NDs defense like it wasnt even on the field) the win probability % skyrocketed in OSUs favor and was locked at almost 100% in favor of OSU from mid 2nd quarter on.

After OSU went up 31-7 the game was in garbage time with conservative clock running play calls and defenses designed to keep the ball in front of them even if it came at giving up yards.

This isn't to take away from the fact that ND executed nicely against a good team in some high leverage situations and ultimately kept the game within 2 possessions but this was predictably a one sided stomp that ultimately ended up being as such.

It became an average or above average d with the injuries, especially mills

I didn’t see any mention of Bothello in this thread, shouldn’t he be a big factor for the ND DL next year?
Depends how he recovers… I just don’t like we are relying on two vypers coming off major surgery… if junior sees the field next year in a regular rotation, terrible job by nd staff
