LT Jagusah/Black
LG Schrauth/Augustine
C Craig/Pendleton or Knapp?
RG Knapp/Pendleton
RT Wagner/Lambert

Thought I'd take a stab at the two deep. I wonder if Rocco and Coogan come back. Hope so. Hell, Pendleton was on The Athletic's mid-season Freshman all-American team! A lot of NFL level talent in this two-deep!

What are you guys thinking will be the two deep?

Absher is going to be a factor somewhere. He'll definitely be ahead of Augustine

A ton of talent competing, that’s for sure. Absent any injuries or transfers, my guess is the following:
LT Lambert/ Black
LG Schrauth/Asher
C Knapp/Craig
RG Jagusah/Pendleton
RT Wagner/Strebig

Rocco and Coogan may portal. Both would be in high demand. Anywhere except Michigan,

Health notwithstanding, Knapp is not being out Craig, IMO.

I just want Coogan and Spindler back and everything should work out fine. Those guys will have incentive to compete to try to keep Craig and Pendleton off the field. Perhaps complete their Master’s Degree. That will be a deep OL that can withstand some injuries.

bold move of knapp over craig. Do you put that there due to ability, or craig coming off injury and not practicing in the spring?

I would say with confidence that if healthy Schrauth and Wagner are sure things in 2025. The other 3 spots should be a real dogfight.

Only 5 OL play, except for injury. You could see a transfer or 2 after the Spring semester.

I'm going to be a contrarian again, or a jerk or whatever. But wouldn't Knapp be the guy to return to the bench, with Jagusah back healthy, and him our next great NFL 1st round LT? And Pendleton and Craig are solid and established at G and C, and Knapp is the odd man out. Indeed he's only starting because of the injury to Jagusah, and Tosh Baker just isn't any good. And he wouldn't be playing if not for the injury. But Knapp is included in every projected starting OL for next season, putting either Craig or Pendleton on the bench. Is this because he's the next Zach Martin, and not just a reasonably game-ready true frosh pushed into starting duty by sheer necessity?

But whoever starts, it should be one of the best OLs in the country one would think.

Pendleton isn't established. He will have to compete for a job just like Craig

I don’t think Knapp starts next year. Maybe as a junior.

Wouldn't surprise me one bit to see Lambert be the starting left tackle. Can't wait to see him with a full off season of strength and conditioning along with a full spring practice. He has the highest ceiling in my opinion and has star written all over him. I think Jagusah if healthy could be a beast inside next to Wagner.

Echo, did you see Raridon’s hold in the first half? Am I missing something, or was that an absurdly dumb hold? He just grabbed the defensive end right off the bat.

Knapp has great feet and technique. That's the main reason he's playing now. Those traits can be elite inside. His career path may trend like Jarrett Pattersons did. Another off season of strength training should benefit him greatly.

I agree Lambert has the highest ceiling of any OL in the team. But he will be challenged for that title next year with Will Black

2 elite prototypes for future NFL tackles

I didn't. That two deep looks spot on.
Wait a minute. So the OP posted under the handle Stu4Don (im guessing a St John Bosco reference) and I replied to his post but he responded to my reply as Sjb75. Jesus dude not only have you been posing as a ND for over a decade but you also have multiple handles. 😂

Nasty, a combination of both. I think Knapp has the potential to be an elite interior talent. He moves exceptionally well and he is aggressive as hell. He struggles in pass pro on occasion out on the edge against quicker guys, but that one weakness disappears inside. If Craig had played all season as our center, then I would give him the nod. But given his injury, and Knapp’s development and his elite skill set, I think Knapp wins the job.

I would add Jagusah to that mix, if healthy, lock to start, just not sure what spot. He is an absolute unicorn physically at the position. Could be the biggest, strongest, and most athletic olinemen on the team

I think Jagusah has the highest upside, but it's probably interior. I think lambert has the highest upside as a tackle. Overall, i give edge to jagusah with overall talent. Good problems if healthy.

Why would I ? He's still an unknown quantity from an actual playing standpoint and coming off a tough injury. Still way too small of a sample size for me. In the mix for sure.
He made some mistakes vs Oregon state no doubt, but he did some things as well moving people around that we haven't seen since Nelson.

The play we run a lot where the TE cracks the DE and the Tackle is supposed to wall down the interior dlinemen. Jagusah at tackle doing that this year, man o man. Price had to squeeze in on his long TD run vs florida state due to knapp not able to crush people.

One game against a team that was playing pretty much all backups just isn't a large enough sample size for me. I think Lambert is a better overall athlete. Again, it's a great problem to have, quality across the board.

A front of left to right of Lambert,Schrauth, Craig or Knapp, Jagusah and Wagner could be tremendous. Combine that with an extremely talented RB room and look out.

So Jagusah lost his spot at LT, then. It's Guerby Lambert instead. And jagusah slides over to G. That makes the picture even grimmer for our boy, the upstart true frosh phenom Anthony Knapp. But he beat the odds once before, chances are he'll beat them again.

I guess you don't care for folks having opinions. That's kind of the purpose of being here no ? Young players win jobs all the time everywhere. Isn't the idea to find the best 5 who function as a unit cohesively ? ND is in an envious position with an abundance of talent in their O Line room. The battles should be fierce.

got to meet Lamberts family, super nice family. I was impressed by jagusah's athleticism vs oregon state. He did make a number of mistakes.

I personally think people (including Tex) are downplaying center like it's an easy spot to learn. Coogan has been working on it for a bit now (not full time obviously until recently). Snapping isn't easy, honestly, i think coogan has a very slow snap and Riley is covering up a lot of poor snaps. Craig IMO was doing better than coogan is now (other than his holding penalties), especially snapping. I'd be impressed if Knapp can win the center spot over a healthy Craig. More so than Knapp beating out Baker.

When did he lose his spot at LT? Myself and many others think he's better off at guard.

We've been wrong before. I and many thought fisher is better suited as a guard, but he's playing RT for the texans and started a bunch (he did i think lose starting job last week).

Agreed. I think they went with Coogan because he has lots of game experience. Putting say Otting in there would have given you 3 starters learning on the job. The snaps certainly haven't been ideal. Practice, practice, practice. We're speculating on Knapp moving inside. Who knows. Wherever he ends up he'll have a full year of experience and will only get better. Again, good problem to have.
