Key points...

Ian Book IS A WINNER..... 27-3 now with a win he carried on his back over #1 Clemson

ND is a VERY physical team... we beat up Clemson up on both the OL and DL all night long - we have a HUGELY PHYSICAL TEAM

THE OL is ELITE

The front 7 shut down the best RB in the country

Brian Kelly deserves to cherish this moment

Kyren Williams is the real thing as a fast runner, a physical runner and an amazingly good blocker

the rush defense is ELITE. Player after player made plays... and have been making plays all year long

Mayer played like a veteran and a rookie all in the span of one game.... he is and will be elite.

Tremble is a BEAST he SMASHED people all night long

our FG kicking is outstanding... and clutch.

ND’s speed matched Clemson

ND’s conditioning (as evidenced by our play at the end of regulation and into OT) is BETTER than Clemson

ND’s team is not only PHYSICALLY tough but we learned last night they are also MENTALLY tough

***** week 9 gambling thread ****

Great week for me. Only went 50% on my personal cfb picks. @tigerguy_ pushed me to the winning side with his lock of the week. Then, I had the anderson silva fight to not go the distance. I followed that with an amazing sunday. On to the next one.

Over team total of 42.5 on toledo tonight. Blindly fading bvg.

Byu -1 (Actually bet more at 2.5)
do I need to tell you guys about byu?

Found a Michigan-3. Overreaction line.

orgeon -10. How many scholarships can Stanford fill with all the transfers? Shaw openly fighting with administration.

ASU +10.5
USC still has issues on the lines.

Riding CC and cincy. They have been good to me. Got lines early. 16.5 and 12.5

Uga -3. Better team. Hopefully they play like it.

Nd+7.5
Early line that was higher than it should have been. If it gets to 3 I'm loading up on Clemson. Doesnt look like it gets to 3 though.

Msu+7.5

WVU+7.5

Kind of feel like I could be overreacting to last week on last 2 picks. But, I just think big12 and big10 (excluding tosu dominating and kansas sucking) are going to have a lot close games. So I'll take the td and hook

What do you know? What do you say?

Shout out to Clark Lea & Tommy Rees!

Although the players have to perform/execute on the field. I'd have to say that both Clark Lea and Tommy Rees kept Clemson off their game with the play calls.
Of course a team as talented as Clemson will always adjust well, it took great calls on both sides of the ball to ensure we were put in a position to make plays!

Go Irish! I'm going to enjoy this one for a little bit. On to Boston College where we cannot afford a hangover game.

If we lose to Clemson by 21+ with their Heisman caliber QB out as well as a few other starters, what do you think?

Football Chain Mail: Is Playing Clemson Without Lawrence Really A No-Win Proposition?

Lou and I are back with Chain Mail after a couple weeks. We discuss that whole idea of tainted wins and "lose-lose" with a Lawrence-less Clemson. If you listened to the podcast, you know I have strong feelings, haha.

I don’t know who received the game ball...

But that had to be a difficult decision.

Has Book ever been the recipient?

Kyren... my lord. The dude is an absolute all-around beast. STUD!

Davis/McKinley/Skowronek/Mayer/Temble(for the little things that go unnoticed)

F’ING BRAMBLETT!

Doerer putting up a measly 17 of our 47 total points tonight.

WU! @MikeGoolsby said it tonight. The dude made some paper. I 🙏🏼 the man comes back to play with Hamilton for one more year. #dynamicduo

Do we know who got it?

BIG plays in the game

Look forward to rewatching this game, I look forward to watching for some critical plays.
Things that stand out to me,
  • our FG holder with a HUGE tackle at the end of the half to stop a sure Auburn/Alabama moment.
  • Kyren and the OL making a statement for the long TD run to start the game
  • Kyren picking up blitz after blitz. He is only a Sophomore but I'm sure this will be on his draft tape. He made some money tonight.
  • JOK fumble recovery and return.
  • Mayer stiff arm across the middle to pick up a first down and some big YAC after.
  • McKinley laying out for a deep pass reception, maybe with some ground assistance.
  • Book & Davis hooking up for deep ball late in game.
  • Book with some critical runs late in the game and making up for the fumble by the goal line.
  • DL looking completely gassed and finding another level to create havoc and sacks in double OT--congrats to Coach Elston and his DL boys for finding it late in the night.
  • There are so many more and look forward to rewatching this one.

Kyren Williams is what Notre Dame is all about.....

You don't have to be a 5 star. You might start 5th on the depth chart. You may not play right away. But you can work your ass off, learn how to pick up blitzes, run hard every time, give effort like every play could be your last. You don't bitch, moan, pout or transfer. You work so hard to improve that there is zero doubt you deserve to play.

Give me 100 Kyren Williams and I'll take my chances against anyone.
