He stinksI’m not convinced that DJ U is a bad QB as there were quite a few drops and pressures on him. He does seem to be fairly immobile though.
One of the keys to the loss was Norvell going for it on 4th and 5 from his 47. The pass was picked and returned to their 5 or so. That’s way too aggressive IMO and cost them 75+ yards of field position and then BC scored.
I think BC looks like they have a solid defense and offensive line. Castellanos makes them dangerous too. I don’t even know what they return from last year other than Castellanos, but they did go 7-6 and almost beat FSU last year but they had around 21 penalties.
I would not at all be surprised if BC upsets Missouri next week and then beats Michigan State. Credit to them for scheduling two Power 4 teams.
Let's get there! Take nothing for granted.Yes 5 seed us a huge advantage. That's been the goal since the new system came out. Also, 6 is pretty nice as well
GT Oline and TE’s seem well coached to my amateur eyes. Their schemes on offense seem line an absolute pain but I think ND will get some good practice against NIU this week. King seems to be pretty accurate in addition to his skills on the ground.GT is the real deal. That OL will put a couple guys into the pros. Veteran and strong. Have had my eye on them since last year. Dont undersell King and the WRs as well. Their safety Brooks was terrific last year .
Didn’t look at BC, so good point. But don’t sleep on GT
I think BK is a very good football coach. His track record puts him in the top 15 people in the known universe at building and sustaining a college football program again and again. I do not like the guy, I hope he fails at LSU, I think he is a weasel, but he is a very good coach. He may or may not be excellent (I would say "just shy of excellent" but it's quibbling). However he dragged our asses out of the dark ages--so IMHO that was excellent for us.bk is NOT an excellent coach, hes above average. Hes not called "big game brian" for nothing
MF rocks, you couldn't find a better fit for ND than him. In retrospect I'm sure that's why they felt they absolutely had to hire this guy. Totally worth taking the chance. I don't mean if he can coach good or not, that's almost beside the point. But as far as being a so-called character fit at a fussy place like ND, I don't think they come much more perfect than MF. And by all appearances he's totally delivering as a coach. And we're making the playoff with ease, and hopefully we go undefeated. If we're the #5 seed we could easily win the first two and get into the semis....You write like Jack Kerouac and I enjoy your posts. But assuming 10 straight wins against some teams that could turn out to be pretty good (I worry about Louisville and GT) means this team has come a long way. Winning on road at SEC is huge in itself, but we have the kind of momentum now that all of BK's twerking and accents could not achieve. He was an excellent coach for us, and that should not be denied. But MF really is relatable, and decent, and talented (although watching him learn on the job was sometimes painful). And now we have Shane Gillis (we need to get him to a game) and Pat Macafee and Herbie and his dog on our side. Can youuu smeelll what the Coach is cookin!!
Ours is damn good too. Not too their level but really goodIf you’re going to point to NDs offensive talent then you better point out that TAMU’s DL is much better than ours and Top 5 in the country.
Oregon 🤣🤣Coming into the season, SP+ projections projected Notre Dame's offense to be as good as the defense (tied at 10th in the country for both). After week 1 results, the OF+ (offensive F+ ranking) is ranked at 17th, and the defense is ranked at 7th. ND stayed at #8 overall in F+ rankings and TAMU slipped to #20 from #17 after this week 1 loss.
Top 10 through week 1:
1. Georgia, 2.64
2. Alabama, 2.33
3. OSU, 2.17
4. Texas, 2.04
5. Oregon, 2.03
6. Michigan, 1.89
7. Penn St. 1.84
8. Notre Dame, 1.71 (offense 17th, defense 7th)
9. Ole Miss, 1.59
10. OU, 1.56

For me, Golson was the most frustrating QB of the Kelly era. Incredible arm, threw a beautiful pass, had athleticism to extend plays and represent a true dual threat, started off like an All American talent. But turnovers, an inability to throw the ball away when no one was open, failure to accept coaching, etc… ruined what looked like a promising career in Kelly’s offense. Him walking past Kelly and just ignoring Kelly’s outbursts was incredibly disrespectful of his obligation as the team’s starting QB…much more an indictment of Golson than Kelly. But as I said, the image of him just ignoring a red faced Kelly screaming over yet another mistake filled series is one hell of a lasting image.

If you’re going to point to NDs offensive talent then you better point out that TAMU’s DL is much better than ours and Top 5 in the country.Oh that's not true. Our running backs are better and our QB is a running threat while there's is not. Also our secondary is better than theirs
Their OL gave up 3 tackles for loss. Ours gave up 7
If you switched OLs before the game, ND wins by more with TX Ams OL. Our final numbers just look better because we have the better players on offense and a running QB but if you watched or rewatched the game, their OL was better
