Kelly getting taken to the woodshed

Whatever, man. You do what you're going to do. But did you click that link? ND fans effin' birthed that shit. There's nothing wrong with BK, he's just a ooach. A totally super successful coach. He has no significant flaws. And ND fans' only significant contribution to the greater football culture, other than being laughably pompous, arrogant and smug, and just being boring, midwestern middle class trash, is this BK-hating meme, this cultural meme. And now everybody gets to riff off it. They don't give a shit about BK anymore than ND fans do. They just want in on the gangbang. It's the gangbang, baby! That's all you gotta remember.

And it all started with the ND Nation website, that's where this whole thing was incubated. They hated BK from day one, nobody knows the reason exactly. They were the first to say he 'killed a kid'. I would imagine it's just the ND culture, they're very full of themselves, and BK just didn't do it for them. And eventually it caught fire with the whole fanbase. I watched it all happen. It took a while, and ironically after we started finally winning every year, and old boy got elected president, which I for one don't think is purely coincidental, things really took off, and ND fans couldn't stop bashing BK. And the rest is history. Very organic in a way, just something that our decadent, weltering society spit out into the popular culture, by way of the internet.

I don't know what MF thinks of all this shit, I don't think he hates BK. But he has to ride the tiger like anyone does. The mob! That's who pays his bills. Not ND, the mob pays his salary. They buy all the tickets. You don't want to cross them, you gotta pander to them. And the mob wants their pound of flesh, and in this case that means BK. That's the real social contract. And that's America for you circa 2025.
Your hero worship of Brian Kelly is apparently boundless. Like the mythological Icarus, you have flown too close to the sun, and now you are in a free fall, tumbling toward Earth.

Because someone levels a criticism toward Brian Kelly doesn't make them a "hater" or a "gang-banger" or a member of a "mob", or whatever other pejorative you want to throw at them. Kelly is a good coach, even a "totally super successful coach," to use your description. But there is no denying that BK's Notre Dame teams, almost without exception, failed on the big stage. Not only do you refuse to admit that, you are apparently incapable of even seeing it. You have offered a litany of excuses for those failures, except for the obvious one: Kelly just wasn't prepared for the big moment. Was that on his players or on him? Does that make him a bad man or a bad coach? Of course not. But it excludes him from membership in the fraternity of great coaches.

In his own words, Kelly left Notre Dame to go to LSU and compete for national championships. If you don't see the irony in the fact that 3 years later Kelly has a largely middling record of success at LSU--yes, he has won games, but he hasn't come close to competing for a national title--and Marcus Freeman has Notre Dame playing in the CFB semi-finals, there is little hope for you. Take the BK blinders off.

Can somebody provide the relative F+ of ND vs PSU heading into this game.

Georgia was ranked 6th in F+ to NDs #4 F+ ranking (a full tenth of a point behind ND)

OSU is ranked #1 in F+ 5 tenths of a point ahead of ND

Big difference

Its not just the F+ difference to be worried about though, its the massive talent difference between these teams 85 man rosters that you have to be concerned about as well
Hey buddy, we're all worried about it. It's not lost anyone, let's just be very clear about that. But once we beat PSU we will show up to play for the national championship! And I think I can remember being one sorry ass 4th down conversion away from beating the vaunted tOSU just a year ago. And Kyle McCord is better than Will Howard anyway. That's who holds tOSU back, that's who makes them beatable. And so we'll just see what happens. Even though lo, though the odds may be weighted so algorithmically against us.....

Again, I get what some say about BK. Especially on social media, which tends to attract the lowest common denominator. Obviously there are extreme opinions, which I don't share...withstanding you insisting I do.

Anyway, I find an institutional and social mob driven conspiracy against BK a stretch. The mob wants ND to allow athletes academic standards, but that isn't happening. Why would it for demonizing BK?

Come on.

Can somebody provide the relative F+ of ND vs PSU heading into this game.

The bar is to win a national title in college football.

Georgia is a really talented team but they haven't been the Georgia of old that won 2 of the last 3 national titles.

OSU is the new Georgia in 2024 (super talented roster firing on all cylinders, leading the field in F+, destined to win a national title)

ND is ranked higher in F+ this season than at any other point and has a better chance this year to win a national title than they have at any other point in the F+ era but does any of that make a difference if they face OSU in the national title game and lose, or worse, get ran over?

So, if we are fortunate enough to win the national championship, the quality bar will be moved up to teams like the Kansas City Chiefs.

Football Junior Tuihalamaka's depth chart rise serves as reminder for Notre Dame

Junior Tuihalamaka was Notre Dame's third-string vyper four months ago. Now he's coming off the most impactful game of his career as the Irish move forward to the College Football Playoff semifinals.

“Knowing that I was going to be that three spot, I never thought of myself being a three," Tuihalamaka said. "I always thought of myself being a one. It was only a matter of time for me to showcase that.”

If Brian Kelly’s reputation is so shitty across all of CFB, why did Notre Dame allow him to be head coach for 12 seasons? Why did Mike Denbrock choose to be his OC at LSU and work for Brian Kelly for many years? Why did Marcus Freeman choose to work for Brian Kelly?

You apparently don’t have a good pulse for things. Learn to read more and question less.

G

The Notre Dame football message board is your valium? You're a bigger loser than I thought. Get some help freak.
Well this is where I vent on ND related subjects. So I guess that makes it my valium. You get the metaphor. You do the same thing. Only you shit all over BK, which is almost like a rite of passage for ND fans at this point, and that's how you bond. And then try to justify yourself. I think that's way worse.
