Michigan vs Texas

Michigans run is over, there’re going to be back to a 9 win team. The talent differential is huge. Was a short run but good for them for getting an NC out of it, more than many can say.
Michigan has a few good seasons and then they disappear. They won the NC in 1997 and then disappeared for a couple of decades. They'll be back when they find another excellent cheater

was anyone else a little disturbed by howard cross's remarks in the post game presser?

he seemed surprisingly accepting of what might be the most unlikely home loss in my lifetime....after our D line got pushed around all day and rarely got NIU offense off of the field, particularly in the last 5 minutes of the game....
I can tell you this for absolute certainly. Players and coaches don't have the luxury or time to dwell on the outcome of games good or bad. When I played the minute a game ended the focus shifted to the next game. It has to be that way unless it's the absolute last game of that season. There is little to no time for it.

Howard Cross - 3 star
Riley Leonard - 3 star

Notice how the guys who aren't really making that much of an impact (or their hype supersedes their impact) are a lot of times the guys who have middling prospect pedigree.
You mean the same Howard Cross who made many All American teams last year and is projected to be a 1st or 2nd round draft pick ? Your star gazing continues to be idiotic. Be better.

What does this quote say about ND QB play under Freeman?

There's a huge difference between struggling on the road at Louisville (played in ACC championship game) and Clemson (perennial power; always very tough at home), and struggling against a MAC team.

Against MAC caliber teams under Parker, our offense never struggled. We had 580 yds on CMU last year. We also had over 500 yds on teams like Stanford and Pitt as well.

We took care of business against lesser teams.
We don't know if NIU is better than those teams or not, nor whether Hartman is better than RL.

Riley Leonard before Notre Dame...

Their total yards are basically the same. That should be obvious to a know it all like yourself, especially since I quoted you with a similar stat yesterday. Seriously, you couldn’t figure that out on your own? I didn’t say anything about passing yards.

My reality is fine. You’re just a blowhard who can’t even parse basic statistics…that’s probably not someone whose football acumen should be trusted.
Again you can't comprehend or just simply ignorantly in denial.
Perhaps an apologist for Riley as you might be paying his NIL.
The entire subject in all these posts are strictly about his passing.

Let me repeat just so you get it this time
These posts are about his passing ability or lack of if you will....

As I pointed out in other threads we aren't as good at running the ball like Nebraska of 94 and 95...

In other words we NEED to throw the ball for success. Imposing our will running the ball is great but we can't rely on that all the time.
There is another team over there and they're trying hard. They also have coaches and they're trying as well.
In case you didn't know all it takes is a coach loading the box daring us to beat them in the air and down the field.
We can't make them pay because our passing game is bad. Really bad!
Riley has already shown his ability and what he can do in the passing game He's a middle of the D1 type of QB.
He runs OK...won't break one 50 yards so he's not a game changer...
but his throwing is atrocious.
The stats speak for themselves. Weak inaccurate arm which is nothing new for a QB around these parts. Matter of fact you'd think we strive to play these types of players.

NIU head coach (former NFL RB coach) advising Marcus Freeman after ND loss

There's a fine line between being open minded and stubborn. Or closed minded and indecisive. I don't care what profession you're in. You do need to be open to feedback, but you also need to assert yourself and go for what you believe is the best move. With that said, Freeman talking to NIU can be seen both ways; he's open to feedback and looking for ways to improve. Or he's unsure of himself and doesn't know what to do going forward. Hoping it's the former.

Random fact of the day:

In 2023, Angeli had more than twice as many TD passes and completed more down field passes of 20+ yards (and had fewer interceptions, a higher completion rate, and QB rating), but only passed the ball 1/4 of the amount of attempts Riley had.

The “garbage time” argument may not be valid here because 90% of the time a QB turns around and hands it off during garbage time. Not passing 20+ yards down the field. Apple to apples, both Duke and ND’s WR were horrendous last year as well, so I think that is a moot point as well. Freeman is in practice and he knows more than me, so I’m just going to see how this plays out, but thought those statistics were a bit interesting.

You’ve been here for 4 days in every thread repeating the same thing.

Get a life.
And you moonlight as a moderator posting the same two things: 1/ “I dont know why you bother responding to Chase” and 2/ Swiss Cheese.

You ascended to the board jackass, congrats, that’s a tough crowd to beat out.

NIU head coach (former NFL RB coach) advising Marcus Freeman after ND loss

Takes a lot of humility when you are the head coach at one of the most prominent college football teams in america to ask for help. I like the move.

Cmon Chase. Stop intentionally being an asshole 24-7.

"Ask for help"? Have you ever been inside of a college athletics program? These coaches all talk. Frequently. These guys are all connected. This isn't anything new.

Hammock seems like a good guy. Freeman is a good guy. Nothing wrong with these guys having a relationship. ND will likely never play NIU again.
