They are world beaters for the crap teams they play for, and then they end up pooping the bed when they come to Notre Dame.

I think you’re overstating it as per the Yankees.

So, just for the record as to guys who were big-time stars in MLB, Cuba or Japan who DIDN’T POOP THE BED after coming to the Yankees via free agency:

Catfish Hunter*

Reggie Jackson*

Goose Gossage*

Dave Winfield#

Tommy John#

Wade Boggs*

Jimmy Key*

David Wells*

Orlando “El Duque” Hernandez (Cuba)*

Mike Mussina#

Hideki Matsui (Japan)*

C.C. Sabathia*

Mark Texeira*

Masahiro Tanaka (Japan)

Gerritt Cole

Juan Soto

NOT A BAD HAUL. ANY QUESTION, CHECK OUT THEIR STATS IN PINSTRIPES.

And though he wasn’t a SUPERSTAR per se, let’s also thrown in Johnny Damon, whose 4 year Yankees stats were impressive as a SUPPORTING CAST MEMBER on some super Yankee teams.

An * indicates a member of a WS winner. A # indicates a member of a pennant winner.

Your first mistake is assuming Riley Leonard is a star QB transfer. He's not.
Not a star, but he certainly was a + P5 QB, who could win big games.

He was certainly more highly touted than Coan.

He came in "different" than Hartman. Hartman was a system thrower who put up big numbers, but I think we all thought that RL was/is the more talented QB.

I'm not sure what happened. He can't throw. Maybe he's hurt? Maybe it's the WR? Maybe it's because he had no spring. Maybe the OL is shit. Maybe it's scheme. It's likely an ugly combination of all those things.

I'm still optimistic. There is a clear pathway to 11-1. It starts Saturday.

I read a quote from MF's most recent presser, where he stated they want the QB or any player to be comfortable and confident with the plays being called. He seemed to be alluding to possibly Leonard not having a grasp of the full playbook, so they'll adjust it to the plays he's confident with.

If true, that's BS as well because you are now limiting the offensive playbook and what the offense can do.

The guy played football @ Duke. As a suffering Big Blue & ND Fan. I’m 0-2 with Duke QB’s.

Jayden Daniels. Caleb Williams. Jalen Hurts. Spencer Rattler. Quinn Ewers. Joe Burrow. Russell Wilson.

I can keep going if you want. A lot of those guys transferred from big programs, sure. So what?

Daniels won the Heisman last year after leaving ASU. Wilson came from NC State.

Shut. Up.
