What will it take to see Kelly gone this year

well the good news is that on Sun. Kelly finally realized what the rest of the football world knew (excluding the galactically stupid). I believe the Sat night Kelly's comments re the defense and DC were his sctual thoughts and understandings. I think he had a total psychological break with reality. Subsequently, my opinion, he heard a powerful sermon.

He is on the hot seat and you are a bright, well adjusted individual.
Do you have to wear uniforms at Culver?
"Future coach"...bwahahaha.I am guessing you will be running/coaching some selling water pyramid scheme soon....

BK addressed the post game presser like this. He said that immediately after the game, it was not appropriate to discuss in public his intentions of firing or retaining BVG. We know for sure that he did meet with Jack but it was implied that the meeting was to make Jack aware of what was going to happen. Now, even with all that coming from the horses mouth, there are still unknowns on how it went down. The important thing in all of this is the correct decision was made as it probably should have been made at the end of last season. Put me in the camp of salvaging this season like it's day one. Do whatever it takes to win games (legally of course) because there is still a lot of football to be played.

Of course he did not have to discuss his intentions in public. But he also didn't have to give accolades to the entire coaching staff, including BVG.

No, but lots ask me for advice...other things.....on numerous topics.
I will take your answer as a "yes"....

Another board is going down memory lane...in 2011 Mr Potato Head went
8-5 with the following players on the roster.....he stinks....

Jonas Gray
Cierre Wood
Theo Riddick
Michael Floyd
TJ Jones
Tyler Eifert
Zach Martin
Chris Watt
Stephon Tuitt
Aaron Lynch
Kapron Lewis Moore
Prince Shembo
Louis Nix
Manti Te'o
Harrison Smith
Robert Blanton
Zeke Motta
Jamoris Slaughter
George Atkinson
Robby Toma
Ethan Johnson
Ishaq Williams
Dan Fox
Mike Golic
Ben Koyack
Darius Fleming
Troy Niklas
Bennett Jackson
Kyle Brindza

I am going to guess that no football player EVER asked you for any advice. With the notable exception of, Where are the clean towels and water bottles trainer?

Over half the players you mentioned never made an NFL roster or are out of the NFL 5 years later. If you think that is National Title quality you must be drunk, or high from all the jock straps you've sniffed over the years.

I do not care how bad of a coach Brian Kelly and his staff are, if the players had played hard and played with pride ND does not lose to Duke. ND players played lousy uninspired football. Many of us who actually played football started out by playing in the park or sand lots with no coaches around. We played hard and we played because we loved to compete. That was the message Brian Kelly was trying to get across.

Do you believe that roster is 8-5 material???? Hahaha hahaha
You're the one boasting around here about doing laundry with an NFL has been..... So, please stop projecting. How many roids did you drop today? Glad you are keeping your wife out of it for now. That was really poor form by you. PS Actually I recently had an hour plus conversation with an NFL player/friend who asked me to review a start up he was thinking of investing in..... Interesting team, product, distribution, manufacturing..... model...... Test market in Bay Area.... can't say much more...

from now on: when Posters try to justify the about face from Kelly's Saturday nite pschological break from reality to his Sunday break with the truth they should have to begin their posts with:

"would you believe...."

Just went through some start evaluation myself. Thee is no reason this team cannot win 10 games every year.

Does a win over Syracuse and Army earn him another year? Let's hear more excuses as to why it's not Brian Kelly's fault.

If you aren't rooting for Syracuse this weekend then you are actually rooting against the future for ND football.
Kelly will lose to Stanford and to USC at the end of the year. The USC loss will be the nail in the coffin. He may have another loss as well as the two I just mentioned. If we can lose against Duke we can lose to ANYBODY.

Kelly will survive 6-6. Maybe even 5-7.
I mean ND just announced a game with Bowling Green! Shhhhhsss, listen? hear it?

These "Never Kelly" fans are a riot. Nail in the coffin? Tom Herman? Willfully and maliciously wanting the season to tank? The fans are now setting the parameters in which the ND HC can keep his job? Zero faith and backing for the actual players who are working their tails off to salvage this season? What a fan base. Loyal, dedicated till the end. The kids don't count. Just the ego of the "Never Kelly" crowd.

I am not a never kelly. I want to make Notre Dame great again. However, Kelly is at a point where he may get a mulligan and have to show us all how he is going to bring back the Irish this year and the future. Or we may have someone visit Kelly with his walking papers.

ND is only a 1 pt fav at NC st. Would not be surprised
if ND loses this one and many more this year. Kelly is gone if they dont go to a bowl game with the offensive talent on this team.

I disagree that he should get a mulligan. As I have pointed out multiple times Kelly is in year 7 which makes him the longest tenured coach in the history of ND to NOT win a NC. While I admit my barometer for success in the current environment is not a NC I do expect consistent 9-10 regular season wins and bowl success... we have gotten neither.

Next year will be year 8, the best coaches in the history of ND football only made it 11, does anybody really think Kelly is going to last 10 or 11 years? Exactly when are we going to get continued success, it's too late for Kelly to string together 3 or 4 10 win seasons.

Kelly is a good coach who did well but he simply was not able to get us the next level and I think it's past time to part ways. Part ways not so much because I think he failed but part ways because after 7 years and the pressure of ND football I think it's only going to get worse.
