Of course ND has a chance to win, this is not Clemson with Deshaun or Trevor. I think ND will win but this is the type of game where QB play will be pivotal (shouldn’t be a huge factor against Marshal or Stanford and ND should have won despite QB deficiencies). ND will need Pyne to play well.
Agreed. Pyne needs to have his best game. It's going to be tough to run the ball consistently. Need to take some shots downfield early even if they're incomplete. Stop the safties from creeping up closer and closer.
Pyne completed 70% of his passes against UNC and BYU, and followed these solid performances with sub 50% completions against Stanford and UNLV and Syracuse. We desperately need to see the UNC/BYU Pyne tonight to pull off the upset.
I think he has to actually hit some legitimate downfield passes because if he keeps missing, Clemson can discount it as a threat.
Personally, I have a hard time believing our offense will be able to score enough or our defense will be able to limit them enough to where we are able to eke out a win.
But I guess the nice thing about having no expectations is that you can only be pleasantly surprised.
