Spring Practice Competition

Mistakes because you say so ? Thats hindsighting. Every coach everywhere makes mistakes. We all do in every walk of life. My issue is your ridiculous suggestion that any coach has a personal " agenda" when it comes to decision making. I find it insulting and any coach worth their salt would also. It's big boy football with billions of dollars in revenue. No one is risking their careers by doing things that aren't in theirs or their teams best interests. Now it will be a much different spring practice dynamic than normal. Restricted work for many players due to the long season and many major and minor injury recovery times. I don't expect any players to win or lose any job this spring given the circumstances. Four of your 5 starting o line from 2024 will be restricted or out of practice. Let's see where things stand around August 20th.
Don't all final personnel decisions, such as who starts, go through Marcus Freeman?

a position coach has two sometimes conflicting duties. Put together the best position group for the team; and develop the players to the maximum extent possible.

The problem comes when you have a team need conflicting with what is best for that particular player.

an OL coach needs the best one for the team; but the individual parts must mesh.

The best coaches find a way to do both. We will see what we have.

BVG much more knowledgeable than you too. You're a hindsighter. Mr. After the fact.
And you are a believe whatever the coache's say no matter what. They can't be wrong they are infallible. You can't even discuss their decisions because they are always right. They are above reproach. Almost God like that they can't be questioned by us mere mortals.

You are pathetic and an embarrassment.

Yeah because spring practice is hindsight and before the season lol. You idiot

Coaches make mistakes all the time. They are not perfect and are not above scrutiny. We know the mistakes Rudolph made the past 2 seasons so we are in the same position again I guess we can't even debate his moves

I think Jagusah is a better left tackle than Knapp and I've said that Lambert is a prototype Left tackle.

The fact that neither are getting reps during spring there is shocking.

Absher is not a left tackle. Rudolph is clearing the deck for Knapp to have that job.

And Wagner can return next year so what's the plan for Lambert? To sit behind Wagner for 3 years? Why not have him repping at both spots. Crazy
Read somewhere that Rudolph recently stated unequivocally that Knapp is a tackle. Given his assessment that Jagusah has all American potential as right guard, it seems apparent that our starting lineup as of today would be left to right: Knapp…Schrauth…Craig…Jagusah…Wagner.
Lambert and Absher and Black might make their individual case for starting, and Craig’s recovery might open the door at center. But like you, I would rather see Knapp on the inside and a more pro typical sized left tackle with better pass pro skills than Knapp showed last season. But right now, Absher is our Swiss knife OL and practicing at center, Lambert at RT as Wagner’s backup, and Black isn’t enrolled yet. I think Black is the only one with the potential for forcing Rudolph to look at Knapp for center or a backup, and that’s a very long shot with him not being an early enrollee.

Lambert has been getting left tackle reps. None of it will likely be decided until mid August. Barring a significant number of injuries it's a no lose situation with whatever 5 run out there game 1. That's how good the room is.

No lose but there are definitely combinations that are better than others

No matter what line will be good. But there is no excuse for the line not to be elite this year. Should be a legit Joe Moore finalist, not like last year, and should be a top 3 room.

Yeah it's looking very obvious your lineup is what it is going to be the way they are practicing

Knapp
Schrauth
Craig
Jagusah
Wagner

Absher may first man in at guard and center possibly. And Lambert should be in first at both tackle spots if they are legitimately giving him a bunch of left tackle reps, not just a few here and there

Still should be top 3 even if some think there are better combinations. No excuses this year

Knapp, Schrauth, Craig and Wagner are all on restrictions. Will be interesting to see some different guys on the 12th.

That's for the coaching staff to decide. No one here is qualified to make that determination.

"Take a cigarette break, fellas," it is sooooo early in this process. Knapp isn't even practicing.

Meanwhile at LB! Sneed is up to 235 from 223. Man, do we have a stable of future NFL LBs or what?

Bowen, KVA, Sneed, Ausberry, Faraimo, and guys like Bodie, Teddy, Preston, etc!

Hope Ash gets the best out of them!

We can discuss coaching decisions. They are not infallible. You believe they are above reproach like they can't be second guessed or questioned. Thats nonsense

This same coach has made some bad personnel decisions each of the last 2 years so he specifically can definitely be questioned.

LB room is loaded.

LB and RB room are competing to which is the best position group on the team. OL when back to health will be in discussion as well

We have some loaded rooms right now

Seems like Rudolph is still mixing guys up, looking for best groupings. Not even hitting really and guys are out so I don’t think anything is close to done that we can tell.

However, if Angeli ends up starting, they better have a LT who keeps his blindside clean. He doesn’t seem to have the best pocket awareness sensing pressure and I thought Knapp did better in run blocking than pass pro.

WR will take a step forward as well. Im really big on our two transfer WRs, especially fields.

I hate to count chickens before they hatch but I think this is the most talented team of my adult life ( I'm 30 )

I just hope the QB position hits gold like our helmets. Year 2 under Denbrock. At his last job, year 2 was a extraordinary improvement.

I wonder how Miami feels going into the opener. Lost there best playmakers, downgrade at QB.

Im predicting a reverse outcome from the last time we went there.
