I think an offensive philosophy change started after the LSU game ... Kelly has the reigns so tight on the offense I can't imagine he let Sanford tinker with it too much.

Love the way we ran the ball this year. You guys have been calling for that but I just loved how we rammed the ball down their throats that last drive. 6:20 minute drive -- with a great mix. They really couldn't stop us and once again, we underperformed in the red zone. Nick Martin doesn't get that flag and Carlisle catches that ball we win by ten.
I pray you're wrong. I'm also praying someone in the nfl is stupid enough to hire Kelly. He is a loser. If he stays there will be more misery next year. Kelly = zero wins at Stanford, zero wins at Meatchicken, and zero wins at the first two major stops in ACC country since the ACC deal was signed.

ok then, don't complain (not you specifically, but people in general that hold that same view) when ND can't do better than a 9 win season average with a really good football coach.
Trolls and fair weather ND fans have been posting as if this season was worthy of being picked apart. We're 10-2 despite the injuries, our QB bailing after spring ball and stealing reps from Kizer, and our backup RB proving he's a 5 star quitter. We can go 10-2, 9-3, 8-4 , 7-5 , even 4-8, every year as far as I'm concerned if the alternative is to diminish what it means to be an ND student. The standards are already too low for revenue athletes. When a kid like Deshone gets a mike in his face, I'm proud whether he's thrown 5 TDs or 5 ints. Maybe it's a different perspective between alums and subway alums. I know I've shot down my father(sub alum) many times for going off on kids that are solid human beings during games. I'm a sports guy, but I would hope ND would stop fielding teams tomorrow if the alternative was dirty bullshit for the sake of winning (for the trolls: you know what your school is and what scumbag shit they do. I'd rather lose than sell our souls).

there's a big difference between being 2 plays away from #1 rank/seed and being the best team in the country (a distinction the OSUs, Bama's, FSUs, etc. of the world have gotten to enjoy the last half decade).
Stanford have stronger offense line this year. ND will lost 3 starter offense line for next year.
yes, ND will lose 3 offensive line starters, but will be replacing it will 3 guys who are equally as talented if not more....ND has more talent on their 2nd team offensive line than they do on their starting groups at other positions.

My guess is Sanford should STAY for one more season to learn more about being a HC from BK. Hope he wants to keep developing three great ND QBs!!! Denbrock might be the first to leave. That would hurt too. Would QUINN then become OC? Quinn might opt for moving on if others stay.
