They can take up a collection and get them there. What if their teammates and coaches want them there?
I think you see the situation much differently than do the players and coaches. They can take up a collection and get them there.
Not sure about the that. Doesn't really matter what they think anyways.I think you see the situation much differently than do the players and coaches.
No opt out for FSU. Even first round picks. That’s a true program. Great culture.
“What if ?”What if their teammates and coaches want them there?
The OP was presumably watching games that showed the opt-outs there on the sidelines. I don’t see any reason for those players to be there unless their teammates and coaches wanted them to be there.“What if ?”
”What if their teammates and coaches DON’T want them there ?
WHY would a coach want a quitter who bailed on him and the team, to join them ?
And they wonAs they scrape an FSU tackle off the turf onto the cart!
I can’t imagine a coach wanting a player who abandoned him and the team on the sidelines during an important game. The OP was presumably watching games that showed the opt-outs there on the sidelines. when team starts training for a D1 upcoming season they have goals.Win your conference, win ur rivalry games and win a championship. no one says can't wait for the walgreens bowl in now where land. these kids thst have the opportunity to opt out have made there colleges a lot of money. they can go to one more game, ots ok.“What if ?”

Not sure why they'd be there if the coach and team didn't want them there—are they forcing their way there?I can’t imagine a coach wanting a player who abandoned him and the team on the sidelines during an important game.
Those players abandoned their teammates when they needed them the most, so why do they want to join them now ?
They wouldn't be there if the coach didn't allow it. Not that hard to figure out. Players fully understand also.“What if ?”

What important game ? You think these consolation games are important ? The single biggest benefit to being in a non playoff post season exhibition game is the extra practice time.I can’t imagine a coach wanting a player who abandoned him and the team on the sidelines during an important game.

Tuition for what ? The semester is over. None of the opt outs will be back in school for the next semester. They'll be training for the combine and draft.I’d rather not see opt outs on the sideline. I have mixed feelings about it but I’m more of the mindset that if you’re opting out you should be paying tuition.
Like most things pylon pat just doesn't understand. Not sure why they'd be there if the coach and team didn't want them there—are they forcing their way there?
Kind of like no one cares what you thinkNot sure about the that. Doesn't really matter what they think anyways.
I see that you’ve come out of hiding ……. Why ?What important game ? You think these consolation games are important ? The single biggest benefit to being in a non playoff post season exhibition game is the extra practice time.

Exams are December 12-16. Most opt out way before that and aren’t practicing either. Pay for the last month or practice.Tuition for what ? The semester is over. None of the opt outs will be back in school for the next semester. They'll be training for the combine and draft.
You speak of the “players” as if they’re one voice, all in unison, and nothing could be further from the truth. They wouldn't be there if the coach didn't allow it. Not that hard to figure out. Players fully understand also.
I see your point, I guess if I was in a firefight in combat and some of my fellow soldiers abandoned me, I would sure want their moral support ! ! !Not sure why they'd be there if the coach and team didn't want them there—are they forcing their way there?
Sure, why not reward abandonment and disloyalty ?If they are technically still on the team....its up to the athletic dept and the team to handle travel and logistics....just like any other game.
Again, I don’t think most of the coaches/players see it as abandonment of the team, which is why opt-outs are either a) asked to be with them during the games or b) opt-outs ask and the coaches/players want them there. If the head coach does not want them there, they wouldn’t be there. We are seeing these opt-out players interacting with their teammates and everyone seeming to accept them—if they as a whole don’t have a problem with them (I’m sure there are a few), how can anyone else really?I see your point, I guess if I was in a firefight in combat and some of my fellow soldiers abandoned me, I would sure want their moral support ! ! !
Wouldn’t you ?
I, and most of my fellow vets on here I assume, would suggest a different analogy. Your point is that by not playing...they are depriving the team of their participation. I didn't disagree with that...and only stated that its up to the athletic dept to decide who travels with the team. I would add that you can also look across the field and will find the same set of circumstances on South Carolina's team....and with every team in every bowl game, where transfers and pro prospects apply. You have an opinion...thats about as far as it goes. And you might want to lose the large bold print. My old eyes could thank you...but really, its a bit much.I see your point, I guess if I was in a firefight in combat and some of my fellow soldiers abandoned me, I would sure want their moral support ! ! !

Bill Snyder at KSU says if you opt out of the team, you opt out of athlete housing, immediately.Again, I don’t think most of the coaches/players see it as abandonment of the team, which is why opt-outs are either a) asked to be with them during the games or b) opt-outs ask and the coaches/players want them there. Frankly, the opt-out players wanting to be with their teammates shows that they’re still attached (i.e., they could just leave and never come back or care) but are also making calculated business decisions about their respective futures, decisions the coaches/teammates completely understand and would likely make themselves.
Why would the other players think that opt-outs abandoned them? With these players out, younger players who will still be around get a chance to play and prove themselves. Asking a Foskey or Mayer to play one more game that’s not meaningful in any real way to show their commitment or loyalty seems somewhat selfish on the part of fans, many of whom having zero ties to the university.
👍Bill Snyder at KSU says if you opt out of the team, you opt out of athlete housing, immediately.
I’d love to see more coaches go this route. Bama kids playing is huge for college football.Bill Snyder at KSU says if you opt out of the team, you opt out of athlete housing, immediately.
Absolutely!I’d love to see more coaches go this route. Bama kids playing is huge for college football.
They didn’t look demoralized at all. In fact, a whole bunch of offensive players got targeted and got chances because Mayer wasn’t in the game. What psychological impact did opting out have on those who are playing in the game ?
It had to be demoralizing to the degree that it impacts attitude and play.
