Overthrown? How can you say that when Boykins was held for atleast a full yard (maybe more) and the ball landed 5 maybe 7 feet over his head. He would have more then made up that distance imo.
From my vantage point it looked like it would be overthrown either way. I could certainly be wrong.

It doesn't work like that. You don't get to come on a board for a week and run your mouth about your team and then expect everyone to just be silent after we hand you your ass.

Guys got hurt? Welcome to big boy football. That's why the elite schools have depth and the best the NCSU's of the world can hope for is everything going their way to hopefully pull an upset. You have 1 great player. Congrats.
I never ran my mouth and in fact I posted that our chances are 25%, and I posted that it will be an honor to visit your hallowed stadium and campus. I met a lot of great great ND fans and people. I will not let your attitude after this game impact my view of your fanbase. I think the Irish fans are great. I only encountered one bad fan who continued to call me and our fans "trailer trash" throughout the whole game. I do not let one fan speak for everyone. And I will not let you speak for everyone. I thought the Irish fans were great and I can't wait to come back.

I have to say I was generally impressed by the football knowledge and the even-handed assessment of most of the NCST fans who came to this site before the game. Would enjoy hearing their take on the game, but most seemed to have disappeared.
Nothing that happened in the game changed the outcome. Hines injury and the pick six confusion both sucked. Did not change the outcome. Still as a fan that travels to your biggest game in awhile, it is frustrating to have those injuries and mistakes. But that pick six is the type of error that you cannot make if you want to beat this Irish team at ND stadium. Some posters here are making it seem like we are blaming the refs and injuries. I think objectively speaking both teams had bad calls, maybe NC State had a few more bad ones. Nobody I know thinks that changed the outcome of the game. Any suggestion to the contrary is inaccurate or an over-generalization based on one or two posts.

Giving up 318 rush yards to the Irish was bad, but it was on 54 carries. I don't know many teams that could have held ND to much less on 54 carries. We could have held you to a 4.0 average and still given up 216 yards on the ground. The number of carries is a credit to your ability to get first down after first down.

Really enjoyed my experience at the game, and would be happy to answer any Q's you have about the game and my experience. However, I will not be responding to negative posts. Great game guys.

you always run into fans that run their mouth off. most fans are ok except when they allow alcohol to affect them. the only complaint I have is the whining about the refs. geez if your offense was able to move the ball consistently then there would be no whining. And start focusing on Clemson. This includes your coach

I would like to ask you one question that bothered me. Your band with amplifiers would play just when our team had the ball and play up until the snap or even a fraction after the snap at times. I do not think that is good sportsmanship. It is not as I am sure some of you will say gamesmanship. With that said, I have no problem with fans being loud. Just like to hear you opinion. I am not trying to get into an argument. Thanks!

I didn't notice it. If it happened, all I can think of is residual anger from playing SC the prior week. Their band makes you want to commit homicide.

OK just wondering. But what someone else does should not influence your band's conduct or reputation.

That started with USC. Saw the Irish play USC at USC years ago and the USC band would do the same thing

I sit right next to the band. It becomes white noise and is a complete non factor. Georgia had no problem with the band. They did not play when the offense was lined up at the LOS. If there was an issue with the band, the State QB would have relayed a problem to his coaches who would have relayed the complaint to the officials who would have resolved the issue. No apologies for the band's conduct.

There are absolutely class ncsu fans and most that came to this board we're great. Ncsu fans do however have a horrid rep. Which gets in the way when they go after big coaches (there was a whole fiasco with tracking Mr Murphy's plane when they pursued Calipari for example). If you wonder about the lunatic fringe... They are most likely ncsu fans lol.
I do think that southern fans tend to be real nice . I went to a Notre Dame Tennessee game with my ND stuff on thinking I would be in an ND section . To my surprise I was seated in a sea of orange . The fans were so nice dispite the fact we beat them . I will never forget that . The worse fans were BC screaming at you pointing at you laughing etc all drunk fools . If I wasn’t with my wife I would have had some “ fun “ with those punks .
I do think NCState was the best team we faced next to Georgia . They came to play but this year ND has a great defense making it tough to create a come back . But they are a very good team

My brother and I attended the game. Sucks we lost, but we had a great time. I was surprised that State's offense did not perform better. I am sure Hines being out affected the game plan, but coaches have to improvise.

The better team won. Your stadium was the nicest college stadium that I have attended. Your fans were for the most part welcoming and friendly.

Good luck the rest of the way.

It may be White noise to you sitting next to them, but when you are sitting opposite of the band it makes a difference. Try it at the next game. Just pointing out a issue I thought helps your team. As I said I do not have a problem with fans making noise just not an amplified band.

Georgia didn't have a problem with the band. In fact, this is the very first time it's ever been brought up. Your coach didn't say one thing about it, though he did about everything else. You need to be here when the USC band is here. Pain in the damn neck but we live with it. We lost four games at home last year and one game this year, so, it can't be that much of an advantage. I really thought opposing coaches would complain about the narrow tunnel leading out to the field but they haven't even done that. My son and his family and friends sat opposite the band for the Miami Ohio game and he felt it wasn't an issue for fans or players. Good luck to The Pack against Clemson and the rest of the season.

I thought they were supposed to stop playing when the team went up to the line. I remember that being pointed out a couple of years ago, and it may very well have been when USC was here in 2015.

Same to you guys. I hope you win out and win the NC. They may not have done it at Georgia and did not do it until after USC game. As I said I am not looking for an argument but it was noticeable where I sat even if we had won the game. I just had never heard it before at other games. Enjoyed South Bend and Chicago. BTW, I am not using that as the reason for our losing the game. You guys were the more physical and better team after the interception. We died after that.

They did stop when NCST got to the LOS, not a second sooner though.

This is a non issue. It doesn't matter if it started Saturday or when Knute Rockne played, nothing illegal. We all wanted a loud stadium, well we now have a loud stadium.

Thanks, the NCST fans were great also. Sorry if anyone was a jerk, probably the first game they been too and probably drunk and definitely not an alum.

Yes it has been a very loud stadium. I don't think it's just the upgrades. I think that the huge price hike in season tickets a LOT of older sit on your hands fans gave up their tickets. Now you can find them all over for reasonable prices and the average Joe (e.g. me) are going and were loud fans. It reminds me of the old days when we had 20k less fans and we got the team penalized for being too loud!

Well, I'm by the student body and the band, it doesn't get any louder than that and I love it. Disclaimer.......I wear my Bose noise silencer plugs so I can listen to the radio broadcast and it does an excellent job of muffling out the outside noise. You have to sport some kind of ear protection if you are by the band. I love it and wouldn't have it any other way. The students keep me young. I have a great time talking with them before, during, and after the game.

I do notice that, it's not new with us. I haven't been to another stadium in some time and don't know if other teams to that. But ya, I would call that a bit of gamesmanship.

I guess we will adjust our noise level to what visiting fans consider appropriate. As I said, my son, his family and their friends sat opposite the band and had no issue with any of it. The real problem is 35-14, not the band.

Well, loud relatively speaking. Cellphones have killed crowds everywhere.

Go to 8:10, 9:30, 11:35. We’ll never hear anything like that again.

I have a problem with the amplified part of the post. Crowd noise is organic and community growth while artificial noise kills the atmosphere. I don't mind the band following the rules but they should make their own sound.

The band has been amplified for awhile now. Even during the years where everyone was complaining about how quiet the stadium was. You have the Jumbo creating sound. The crowd creating noise. You want the stadium loud or not? Or do you want it loud under some made up rules about what is appropriate and what is not? Should we go back to megaphones instead of amplification? Not one single opponent has complained. Not one single opposing fan has complained here until now. 35-14 is the real issue here. Injuries to key players, bad officiating, missed offsides call, and now the band is too loud.

Wow, sorry to hear of your experience with that one fan. Most of us real ND fans go out of the way to be welcoming. I'm betting that drunk, non-alum, fan is just projecting dreading having to go back to his run down mobile home after the game. You have been very respectful on this board and wouldn't let some posters on obscure internet boards get to you either. Anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed the game and you are a credit to your fan base, I did not run across one bad NCST fan at the game.

Toby, It was fun discussing this with you. You are right that you beat us 35 to 14. I was just making the point that I see it as bad sportsmanship by the Band, not the Notre Dame fans to play until the snap of the ball and sometimes, if you are honest about it, a fraction after a few times. Especially when amplified. Anyway as I have said I hope you run the table. I am out and on to the Clemson game, Thanks to all for your hospitality at the game.

You don't think for one second that if the ND band was interfering with the snap count your QB would have relayed that to your HC who would have filed a complaint to the refs who then would have paid particular attention to the complaint , who then would have warned the ND band if it was that egregious? That's our fifth home game this season and not one opposing QB or HC has filed a complaint. With that said, good luck against Clemson and the rest of the season. If you can do us a solid, can you please put a beat down on Clemson? Thanks in advance.
