Nowhere near as good as the Irish. They run their gimmick offense better than anyone. If you watch that game we had 7 drives the whole game. Wimbush played very flat out of the gate. He hits those wide open receivers early, this game would be over at halftime. We gave Navy the confidence to potentially beat us early on. The other thing Navy's D scheme was good. They gang tackled, when Wimbush took off they were all aware etc. All it would have taken is the early success. Our D played extremely well. Considering the time of possession advantage Navy had we limited big plays and forced them to drive where for the most part it was not as successful as needed against a team like the Irish. I do not know what IIO thinks of this but Wimbush may not or should not be the long-term QB. If he cannot pass with some consistency and urgency we need another.
I think you miss my point. Man for man, we are better. But it takes a team to play football and Navy has a hell of a team.
