How are we feeling about Ohio State game?

OSU doesn't have "a Jeremiah Love at QB".

Will Howard is above average. He's good.

But I'd take Leonard over him.
They're similar. They're both 'dual threat'. RL's definitely a better runner, and not a bad passer who can certainly have his moments. And Howard's a better, more polished passer, as far as it goes, but definitely not the pure running threat that RL is. Not even close. But he can take off from time to time.

I think RL probably has better NFL potential, even though he's a pretty big project as a passer. While WH is just okay all around. RL the higher ceiling, Howard the higher floor.

If ND wins they are the national champions regardless.

But if they win, it doesnt mean that OSU wouldnt beat them the next 4 times (and win 4 of 5) in a series of hypothetical rematches.

What would change where ND stands in the hierarchy of college football is if they beat OSU and won a national title, and then flipped several of OSUs', Oregons', Georgias', Bamas', Texas', etc. eventual top 100 recruits/signings in the '26 class.

I would be elated for a national title championship victory but I want to be the next prime Georgia, prime Clemson, prime Alabama (with multiple NCs or at least a legit chance to win one any given year) not Auburn where they lucked into one and then became entirely irrelevant at the highest level of college football since.
You continue to make a foot out if yourself. You make things up. This isn't NBA playoffs- 5 or 7 game series. It's 1 game.....winner take all.

Who cares if "OSU would win 4 out of 5". We'd be National Champs.

And you'd be crying all night like the little bitch that you are.

And if Notre Dame wins, it doesn’t mean that they wouldn’t beat OSU four out of five times

Mike, he’s not a Notre Dame fan. He’s just a dirtbag who tries to denigrate Notre Dame at every opportunity

lol. You had UGA as tier 1, and during the season you listed PSU as a team we couldn’t beat
This is how dumb he is where he constantly contradicts himself. He states ND is not a tier 1 team even though ND reached the national championship game beating 3 top 10 teams to arrive at the game.
He now states "Georgia was a nice team, but not a tier 1 team. We're going to be facing a tier 1 team Monday. Can ND hold up?"

He is basing this off of team rankings, and yet Georgia's composite team ranking is BETTER THAN Ohio States.
So how is it that Ohio State is a tier 1 team and Georgia, whom ND beat by double digits is not, where according to the services Georgia has more talent than Ohio State? In fact Alabama also has more talent on the roster than Ohio State and they couldn't even make the playoff..

With all the talk about the players, there’s been very little discussion regarding the offensive and defensive coordinators and the game plans that the respective coaches have crafted for OSU and Notre Dame

as per ChaseDoesn'tHaveAnyBalls, that doesn't matter. The only thing that matters is the talent between the two teams. Coaching and development are an after thought.

Penn St and Georgia were nice teams, but not tier 1 teams. We're going to be facing a tier 1 team Monday. Can ND hold up? They've shown they can hold up to a tier 2 team like Penn St. and to a lesser extent Georgia (and even get wins) but can they hold up to a tier 1 team backed by tier 1 talent performing optimally right now in OSU?

This is what F+ was designed for. If ND gets ran over by OSU i would prob have ND somewhere in the middle to lower end range of tier 2 (Oregon, Texas, PSU, ND, Ole Miss) this is the group of teams better than the rest of the teams in the country but still way below a tier 1 team like OSU playing optimally.

If ND challenges OSU (not in a got lucky challenge but on a play by play to drive by drive basis) then I'd expect ND to be at the top of that tier 2 i listed but still not quite at the level that i wouldn't automatically give OSU the benefit of the doubt in a hypothetical rematch
Now Georgia isn't Tier 1 LOL. Who is ranked higher in the team composite rankings between Georgia and OSU

Why do posters respond to obvious ND flamers? Anyone who would post what I just read on the topic of a potential ND win tomorrow is clearly not an ND fan. Yet he's one of the most frequent posters on the entire forum. Why fuel the fire by responding to him? He's clearly not a happy person. Go Irish!!! Beat the Buckeyes!!!!

I have asked that for a long time. Simply put, we have certain posters who choose to engage chaseball on a regular, daily basis, sometimes morning to afternoon to night. I disagree with this approach; however, that is there business.

If ND wins, I'd be more shocked than any other game, pro or college, in my lifetime. People want to talk about last year's game being close, but that was LAST year. Different rosters, different circumstances. I actually think we'd have a better chance had Ohio State NOT lost to Michigan. That literally a fire under them, and really dominated three better teams than we played.

Now ups other handles come out, defending him. It's hilarious really. He's not only a fool, but a coward as well.

WTF are you talking about, and this year's ND team isn't better? We're the one that's improved dramatically, tOSU has largely tread water. They spent a boatload of money on a small handful of top transfers, and the rest mainly on roster retention, so it really is the same team as a year ago. And throw in Caleb Downs.

I still feel that Freeman and Golden need to go deeper on the bench along the D line. I was watching a program today showing that ND and OSU is typically decided in the 4th quarter. If Cross reinjures his ankle our Tier 1 D takes another major hit. It has to be avoided. No doubt OSU will run it down our throat. That's what I would do. We need to get some bigger boys on that D line as reinforcements sooner than later. ND is tier 1 but no more injuries please..

Our offense can barely score. Ohio State is far better at QB this year than they were last year. Their receiving corp is far better than they were last year, and also better at RB. I don't see us beating them unless we score 30 points. Unfortunately, I just don't see that happening. Hopefully I'm wrong, but that's just what I see. I know people here love RL, but to me he's barely an average QB. I think we'd have a better chance with Angeli playing

How dare you! You know you can't say anything but positive comments here! These people think our defense is better than the '85 Bears! 🤣

We average more ppg than OSU

The closer this game gets, the more "ho hum" i'm getting. Can we beat them? Sure, anyone can be beat on any given day. But I asked myself today, if I were required to bet my life savings on this game, who would I pick? The answer is not the irish and anyone who says they would bet on ND winning in the case of the question I asked, is lying or dumb.

Honestly, the more I think about this game, and I hate saying this, but I hope its a respectable game and it doesn't get too far away from us. I hate the moral victories we seem to be good with after getting beat by teams like this on similar stages. But I just don't see us winning this one, unfortunately.

We shouldn't even show up and if we do you shouldn't watch...

Crawl under your bed and curl up in a ball and just pray that we can keep it within 30.

Well sure, the smart money's on tOSU, fair enough. But as long as we got a good puncher's chance I am satisfied and bring that shit on! And we definitely have that much. I'm just glad J Love is apparently healthy enough and will be without the brace.

And I'm ready to go. I like our chances. I just wish we could have Riley Mills and H Cross at close to full strength. That would be nice.

Again, I can not keep up with all of Chaseball's alias handles.
I don't blame you. I can't keep up with all of them either, but some usually stick out. The obvious ones are denigrating ND, but he's got some homer ones to throw you off. There could be a full time chaseball mod.

Oh I agree, i just can't shake the years of trauma quite yet. lol. If they draw up a helluva game plan here and we limit turn overs, we can win this game. Either way... I have a fresh bottle of Jameson 12 year ready to be cracked tomorrow night! lol

Why anyone wastes their time and places a small t in front of OSU i will never know.

Don't bother.
It's just a slap at what tOSU backers do. They believe they're THE Ohio State University. It's kinda big headed but that's what they think.

I"m not a gambler, so I don't bet on games, and I have never have to put my money where my mouth is. So easy for me to say, right? But if someone happened along, and said Hey, I'll give you a hundred bucks if you pick the winner!, I would go with ND. This is indeed a pretty special team. I definitely think we can win. Only thing is the injuries. We don't have to be at full health, but damn! And yet it hasn't gotten us yet. We'll call it a pick 'em game. I'm willing to concede that much.

We have a decent chance. They are favored for a reason, maybe they win 2 of 3. I do think we have to play mistake free football, especially the turnovers. The later the game goes and it is close the pressure will be on them. The worst thing would be for them to jump out to a 21-0 lead.
