Harder to be a ND fan than ever.......

The police are much more likely to avoid prosecution than anyone else filmed breaking the law.

Rioters are breaking the law and should be arrested. Protesters on the other hand are not breaking the law and are protected by the constitution.

http://www.cnn.com/2017/04/14/us/georgia-gwinnett-county-officers-fired-video-trnd/

Again, police should be arrested if they actually break the law. But only if they break the law.

And many of the highest profile accusations against police have not involved police that have broken the law, at all.

However, protesters are often breaking the law and should be arrested.

The violators are often for rioting.

But there can be other violations as well. (Illegally blocking a highway, trespassing, vandalism, etc)

Again.

Dems still aren't denouncing violent rioting and illegal protests as a form of expression

The law need to become FAR more punitive for illegal protests (which is finally happening) so that law enforcement can make examples out of these rioters.

And Republicans aren't denouncing police beating and shooting unarmed citizens. Does that mean they support this? Of course not. You have no point.

And Republicans have earned a reputation as being the not being a friend to minorities.

That's something that Republicans should be working on, to align their public stances more with moderate Americans

But that in NO WAY changes the fact that Democrats are the anti-police party.

The fact that the Democratic party has allowed itself to be hijacked by extemists and turned into an anti-police party, is a major part of why they've taken soooooo many losses at every level of government.

This is going to continue until Democrats learn that they need to reject and punish the extremists not accept them into their party and kowtow to them.

The Democratic party has become sooooooo pathetic that it can't even win an election against motherfvcking Donald Trump.

These losses aren't going to get any gentler for Dems until they finally learn their lesson and boot these wackjob extemists

That's the point little buddy.....see if you can wrap your mind around it

Ridiculous. One party being slightly interested in cutting down on police excesses does not make them "anti-police".

Police have long operated above the law in our country. It has to stop.

Nope. Inaccurate.

That may be the stance of most reasonable Democrats, but unfortunately for them the Dems have allowed wackjob extremists to take over the party and make it a decidedly "Anti-Police" party..

That's what the Democratic party has become, an "Anti-Police" (as well as "Anti-Capitalism, and "Anti-Democracy") party controlled by extremists.

This is an absolute, undeabateable fact.

And this fact has cost the Dems in election after election, to the point of near irrelevancy at every level of government.

This is another undebateable fact.

And these losses are just going to keep piling up until the Dems denounce these extremists and turn back from their ultra-radical policies.

The Dems couldn't even beat Donald motherfvcking Trump. That's how pathetic the Dems have allowed the extremists to make their party.

Truly sad

It's the stance that the Democratic party has allowed themselves to be painted with.

The fact that it's a commonly held opinion makes it a fact, by the nature of the topic being discussed.

So yes, it's a 100% undebateble fact.

The Democratic party has allowed themselves to become the anti-police, anti-laws party
(thanks to extremists)

This is one of hte major reasons that Dems have plummetted out of power at literally every level of government, nationwide
Your opinion of the democratic party is just that. Far from factual. You love the broad brush.

I get that's what you'd like the truth to be. I really do.

I would hate it too, if my party allowed itself to be hijacked by extremists, and was turned into the "Anti-Police", "Anti-Capitalism", and "Anti-Democracy" party.

This is undebateable, not matter how much you wish it was.

The evidence is not only splashed across every news article involving police and statement from the democratic "leaders".

The death spiral towards irrelevancy will continue until the party either learns this lesson and kicks out the extremists and abandons their insane "Anti-Police", "Anti-Capitalism", and "Anti-Democracy" stances

Otherwise, the Democratic party will just keep spiraling towards irrelevancy at every level of government.

If you can't be Donald fvcking Trump.....you need to accept the error of your ways and change

Hopefully the Democratic party either learns their lesson now (unlikely) or the 2018 Senate map removes their last shred of governmental relevancy....and an all-out legislative onslaught from the Republicans forces them to move towards the center

This country has over 300 million people. So there will be random occurrences like the one in your picture, where a policeman was out of line. That policeman has been reprimanded. But I think most law enforcement do a good job, overall.

The Left tend to overreact over a few viral videos of police misconduct.

Your opinion does not reflect the party as a whole no more than the "freedom Cockus" reflects the republican party as a whole. That said its generally easier to paint with a broader brush but you know that based on your opinions.

I think there is plenty of overreaction on both sides of the aisle. Until BOTH sides become serious about addressing the problems this country has nothing will change. Not enough reasonable folks in DC.

Blanket moronic statement here congrats Ivan. The problem is in part when there is a problem involving the police and if the person is black the whole world knows every intimate detail. As in Ferguson. You know hands up dont shoot. When the evidence was revealed none of the media and BLM accusations were true. But it was too late. And morons like you who think like you want to believe it. So the police rarely in cases like this get fair play. When a white kid in Fresno got shot by the police. No one rioted and it received little air play. Yearly statistics average roughly 500 or so deaths by police the vast majority are European Americans. All are investigated and 99%+ show no fault Believe me no officer wants to shoot anyone. but negative perceptions and media that wants ratings play this up worse that it is. also people like you who do not think objectively are the problem

"99% show no fault" is BS. A BS investigation by their friends clearing them of any wrongdoing. Hundreds of videos show otherwise. The police in Georgia were fired for their actions in this video, but they should have been arrested.

What are you basing any of your claims on?

Do you even know what IAB (or a related department, per jurisdiction) is? Do you really think those guys are "friends" with the cops they're investigating?
(If so, anyone with a brain will know what a fool and liar you are)

Please tell me your argument is based off of anecdotal evidence from YouTube....

One, you can fix stupid and Ivan has dominated that distinction for a while. Just an opinion here. when an officer is in a stressful dangerous situation bad things can happen. Sometimes procedures should be adjusted because when a death occurs during an event even though the officer may not be at fault they may be able to avoid some of these occurrences not all of them. that said, Ivan does not have a clue

We should be able to agree with the following broad statement so as to the differences between the two party's:
Democrats support strong centralized government and the notion that government is the solution to most problems; and Republicans support greater State authority and autonomy and the notion that most problems are best resolved by the private sector or at local levels of government.
Democrats support the redistribution of wealth as a vehicle for helping the less fortunate, while Republicans support the notion of maximizing how much earnings and wealth people can keep to reward individual effort and to serve as an incentive for individual responsibility and empowerment.
Democrats are generally suspicious of the criminal justice system and quick to find fault, and Republicans are generally supportive of law and order initiatives and quick to defend the criminal justice system.

Democrats with the complicit help of the mainstream media constantly frame these Republican values as racist and hostile to minorities and women and anyone who is not rich. For their part, Republicans with the complicit help of cable TV and talk radio frame these Democrat values as Euro Socialism and anti rich and soft on crime, etc... I personally think the criticism directed at the Dems is pretty factual and at least intellectually debatable, while the criticism directed at the Republicans is too often emotionally charged divisive hyperbole along racial, gender, and economic lines. I think the back and forth in this and other politically focused threads simply reflects these biasis and methods for articulating same.

Very well said.

At a high level, I'd say that this is fair summary of the general ideologies and tendencies underlying both parties

That statement was as Fair and Balanced as Fox News. There are major problems with both parties and this statement addressed only one side.

It's absolutely perfect that you are somehow so insanely biased that you can't see that what he said did actually address issues on both sides.
(Care to try and point how it's doesn't apply or is unfair, on a high level?)

Not only does your post actually confirm its veracity, but it also confirms how insanely incapable of self-reflection the left generally is.

Thanks for swinging by with this perfectly timed post

The real world is not that simple my friend. Neither side is without fault. Extremists on both sides are ruining our politics. When was the last time you had a real discussion on solving problems without attacking people who don't agree with you? Try it sometime.

The errors with both sides were pointed out, and nierhee was attacked.

The fact that you can't see that, and somehow feel attacked, shows how insanely you biased and incapable of self reflection you are.

You should address the specifics, rather than continuing to disprove you're own claim by rambling

The problem he has is arrogance. He sees only the flaws in others not himself.

Zona,
You are 100% correct. I have never seen a generation that felt
so entitled as the last few generations
or so. Of course, there are exceptions as exemplified by the young men serving in the military, but I would not
spend one dime of my money to send a kid to college today, unless that kid was truly gifted intellectually,
highly motivated to achieve, and following a very challenging academic program that led to a professional
degree. One strike and they would be out !
In my large extended family, We have judges, lawyers, Teachers , and policemen. All were born relatively poor, some in absolute poverty. All had to work their way through High School, served in the military, and then worked their way through college and , in most cases , graduate and law school.
The police officers and detectives in my family worked one of the toughest areas of Brooklyn.
They never went out with the intention of shooting or killing anyone. They were there to protect the
law abiding citizens of that community, they were peace makers, who also looked forward to returning home to their families each and every night,
It high crime and murder areas, it seems to me that more police protection is required , not less !

Unlimited public assistance
The right of illegals to assemble on the White House steps
The right to impose their ever increasing lack of religious, social or moral belief on those that actually have them.

Unfortunately, this group has disregarded their parents , God and overall values. They seem to be for everything and believe in nothing. We are part of the blame for their lack of values. We gave them too much. Otherwise they have been brainwashed by the media , and schools (which are left wing) and do not know how to think critically.

Zona,
I know that I have tried to " Discuss " these problems with many younger people. Fortunately,
God has given me a relatively long life. When I was a boy, we lived in a society that was taught self reliance
and personal responsibility. Those values were taught in our schools and in our homes. We were taught the same moral and civic values that were taught in our school.
As we grew older, We never lost our trust in our schools. We continued to believe that the schools
were an extension of our homes with the same Values. However, both society and the schools were changing , little by little, until the values taught in the schools no longer reflect the values that were
the very foundations of our families and made our country great.
Society, the public schools , our "catholic" schools and Colleges , and even our Church has changed, and , in my view, not for the better ?

How many of the 99.99% of arrests that day which were done professionally and with no controversy were highlighted by the media? My guess is basically none.

Yeah. Just like how the media ignores the 99.9% of people who don't shoot their neighbor in the head and instead focus on that one bad apple.
