Game thread

How many times have they said that SC has a free run at the QB? About 4 or 5? Where is the Oline that pushed around Clemson? THis is the Oline that showed up against Stanford....

Let’s face it, the receiver got well behind the ND defensive backs.
Poor play on their part
So Morrison got hurt and it looked like Clarence Lewis declined to cover the receiver who strolled right by him on that long TD.

Sadly, I’m inclined to agree.

Again, it's a much greater discussion for later.

But this is why I discussed with you previously the impact of standards and restrictions...which puts a ceiling on the upside.

If ND doesn't engage in transfers and NIL, sure, it will be harder than ever to recruit talent in depth, as well as attracting coaches who have NC know how and ambitions.

It's decision time this off season for ND.

And, the play of the OLINE is terrible !
The offensive line does suck. On our TD drive, Estime did it all on his own. Plus, Buchner is going to get his jaw broken on one of these plays.

I'd say the first coach to replace would be Hiestand. I don't know why he enjoys the reputation he does. Way overrated.

You can almost feel that all of the MO in on NDs side now. Time for the Oline to step up and ND go on a long, time consuming, TD drive.

Someone on here had posted that HH puts PLAYERS into the NFL, but can't build an Oline into a cohesive unit. I tend to agree with that.

I believe that ND has embraced the value of transfers.
I think they may be struggling with how best to deal with NIL.

Lowering academic standards is a far more difficult issue.

I agree about selecting experienced, successful coaches, but the timing and method of Kelly’s departure really put ND in a terrible position.
ND made a mistake in not naming Freeman as an interim coach.
But we are where we are.
I may be wrong, but I think this game is more important than many think.

I agree about decision time.
At the very least ND should be looking at Plan B, plan C and plan D.

Time will tell

This is the offensive line that always shows up in big games with the lone exception of the Clemson game.

These are good points, many which I share.

But many become moot if ND combines transfers, NIL, academic accommodation...with its attractive brand and financial know-how. Then the 4 and 5 stars in depth even in skill positions will come...and Freeman can really get to prove himself.

Yes, I'm sold on Freeman overall. As you said, he got a bit of a mess. He did well all in all. As I posted earlier, ND gets an acceptable C+.

And indeed time will tell. Fingers crossed!

Finally...let's win this game! The Irish just went ahead as I'm pontificating my 2 cents!

:D

We’re on the same page, but I’m not all-in on Freeman as of today’s date.

Only ND can be ready to put the game away and throw a 100 yard pick six.

RUN THE DAMN BALL, TOMMY!!!!!!!!!! Please fire TR after this game....he raises his ugly head with bad play calls at the worse time.

Yep, Buchner is better than Pyne, despite what the stats reveal, right Golson5 and Get Nasty ?

Buchner can’t throw. I don’t care how many yards he has. He’s a TO machine and gimmick QB

I have to agree, with a rusty and under performing QB and the run game starting to dominate, run the ball !

Terrible decision !
