Notre Dame Nation:

What are your thoughts on Bryce. I try not to get too much ahead of myself, but this young man is exceptional. I watched him during the season, while he participated on special teams and on defense. He seems to always flash. I feel that once he shows more consistency, the opposition will not know how to deal with him - he is a beast!! He can be one of the best to enter the doors at Notre Dame. I know that his father must be so very proud of him.

Losing Traore and Jordan Botelho, gave me a little heartburn. Thank God for Joshua Burnham, and Bryce Young!!! What are your thoughts on Bryce?

Go Irish!!!

He has all the potential in the world. Maybe the most physically gifted player on the roster

This freshman class is phenomenal. I thought it was better than the rankings indicated. It is. And it might be even better than I thought

He’s fun to watch…one second he’s getting blocked inward on an outside run and in a blink he’s in on the sideline tackle for no gain. Kid is fast and athletic as hell, plays with a great motor, loves contact, and has good instincts. He’ll be bigger and stronger next year, with a great deal of learning experience. He has the potential to be one of those monster difference makers we’re always alluding to.
And I agree with Irish and Golson, this freshman class is outstanding and making major contributions every game.

Solid player already. Huge upside potential. He can probably add another 30 pounds. Hopefully a 1st round pick after his ND career like his father.

Yeah for sure. And Urlacher and Hobbs have played pretty well. Better than their rankings especially for true freshman
I got to admit I've been really impressed with how quickly this coaching staff is getting high quality reps from young players on the defense

defensive recruiting over the last few years has improved no doubt about it so that plays into it but I think it's more a combination of good coaching good scouting some better prospects and a really good defensive scheme all playing into it

Big time talent! This post gets me fired up.

Agree- by next September....Young is going to destroying opposing offenses.

Your challenges w the staff are well documented.

All that being said, is the staff recruiting, developing, and running the D at the levels you've been wanting?

Simple question: In your eyes, is the D "there"?

Love him

Been chatting up his Dad since NIU game…his dad is still huge and still respectful. And is having fun with Bryce being a DE

The D is "there" from a production standpoint. They are producing to a #3 DF+ in the country. This is with a lot of injuries too. This suggest that NDs D can play with the top teams in the country.

Now we need to get the offense from ~15-20th into the top 10, and ultimately the top 5 as well WHILE maintaining a top 5 defensive ranking. THEN ND will have FINALLY arrived in the tier 1.

Sounds easy and straight forward but won't happen without drastically improving the recruiting. Offense is more important than defense so there's a lot more competition for top prospects on offense.

Rarely is there teams top 5 in both.

The two teams at the top of F+ over the last several years have all been national title winners and have all been in the top 5 in both. That's what its going to take to have a realistic shot.

Well then they were wrong because Michigan wasn't a top 5 offense last year. They beat up on a weak schedule and weren't a real top 5 offense.

And Alabama and Ga don't have top 5 defenses this year so I guess we could cancel them out

We're using different ranking systems but I know you use old school ones that don't adjust for opponent quality so mine's is probably better

If it had Michigan as a top 5 offense, then no. It's not

And are you eliminating Ga and Bama because they aren't top 5 defenses
