Chase,
Obviously you like Single pay health care run by the government !
I do not !
"government run" is just establishment fear mongering ..
Bernie Sander's medicare for all plan would keep healthcare privately ran but government funded. Like France's system.
Bernie's plan would be to lower the age requirement for medicare every two years by 10 (from 65, to 55, to 45, etc. until all are covered). This would also save tax payers $2T over 10 years.
Why is disagreeing with single pay health care Fear Mongering ? If it is Privately Run , who is the
Private organization that will run it ?
If my employer is already paying for my health care, isn’t it better that he pays rather than the Tax payer?
I don’t have the statistics handy, but I believe that Employer paid health care covers about 80% of
All healthcare ? Isn’t it better that private business pays out all that money rather than the Tax Payer ?
Everything for free. Nobody has to work. Everyone can sit at home. Great ideas. In essence you are asking why does anything need to change, everything is alright/fine the way it is. Probably because you don't deal with these issues in 2018 .. you probably enjoy Medicare (which is an extremely popular social program in the US that your own party is working overtime to try to defund).
The rest of the healthcare system in the US is inept/corrupt/many people die who fall inbetween coverage gaps where they are not eligible for one program or another for many different reasons, and many more (even those who are insured) go bankrupt.
A single payer system, like medicare for all (Bernie Sander's plan), covers everybody regardless of income/wealth/age/gender/employment/health/etc. cuts cost, and eliminates most of the problems listed above.
I answered this question pretty comprehensively in another thread:
America's healthcare system ranks worst of any developed nation. This study includes all the important issues (wait times, satisfaction of care, affordability, access, completion of treatment, etc.) https://interactives.commonwealthfund.org/2017/july/mirror-mirror/
Americans get worse health outcomes at twice the cost, and have one of the shortest lifespans relative to the rest of the industrialized world
45,000+ americans die every single year as a result of not having health coverage https://news.harvard.edu/gazette/st...s-annually-linked-to-lack-of-health-coverage/
You know how many citizens in other 1st world countries die due to lack of health coverage? ZERO
America is the ONLY developed country that doesn't provide healthcare to ALL of its citizens as a right (all 1st world countries have a form of single payer/public option/safety net for ALL/every single one of its citizens) and on aggregate those citizens are way more satisfied with their healthcare system than americans are with theirs.
These other nations have no clue why americans accept death and bankruptcy because of medical debt and lack of access to healthcare (medical debt is one of the leading causes of bankruptcy in the USA https://www.nytimes.com/2018/03/21/upshot/getting-sick-is-really-expensive.html
NOTHING makes sense about the healthcare industry in america other than providing record breaking profits for needless middle men (insurance companies).
The healthcare system in America is grossly immoral, corrupt, and fiscally/economically worse than anywhere else in the developed world.

If everything i'm saying sounds foreign to you it's because you probably only get your news/media from major media outlets who have a vested interest/bias towards keeping the system the same. Issues of people dieing from lack of access to healthcare or medical debt being one of the biggest reasons for bankruptcy in the US or polls showing that the american people want public colleges to be tuition free or want single payer healthcare system (something that is working/and available throughout much of europe/scandinavia/and other wealthy nations) is not something that ever gets covered in the US media.
A small handful of super wealthy people and corporations own most of the media outlets in this country. It's in their best interest to keep people uninformed on these issues and to keep the status quo .. they love the current system in which has made them and keeps them extremely powerful and wealthy.

You have not answered my question, but you went into something about how I get my news ?
How it is better for the tax payer if the 80 % of people who now have employer paid health
Suddenly give up their plans ( payed not by the taxpayers ) and go into a plan paid by the tax payers ?
You are making an argument for the current system. I've already wrote a novel on why the current system isn't working. The healthcare industry in america in its current form is broken. It doesn't work. Unless you are a wealthy billionaire with capital in some health insurance company--then its working perfectly.
We need to get rid of the price gouging middleman (the insurance companies) and move towards a single payer system that covers all americans. Get the profit motive out of healthcare, like all other wealthy nations who have a much better system, and provide healthcare to all americans as a right.
I have employee's in 20+ states so I'm familiar with more than just Florida. Simply saying I'm not on-board with an arbitrary 40% tax increase. I'd like to see my tax burden lowered for numerous reasons, all of which would enable to increase revenue, profit margin, etc.Do you know what the corporate tax rate is in the neighboring SE states? I'll give you a hint it's higher than FL. Nothing wrong with being on par with others to bump up education, etc.
Chase, I sympathize with your viewpoint but disagree. Are you a single issue voter?
This was published on 8-23-2018:
A vast majority — 70 percent — of Americans in a new poll supports "Medicare for all," also known as a single-payer health-care system.
The Reuters–Ipsos survey found 85 percent of Democrats said they support the policy along with 52 percent of Republicans.

No, if you read the earlier part of this thread, i touch on other issues (end the wars, build a new new deal, legalize drugs, increase taxes on the super wealthy--corporations included, reform criminal justice system, raise minimum wage to a living wage and tie it to inflation, break up the banks that are too big to fail, get private money out of politics, implement a federal jobs guarantee or even a universal basic income, etc. etc.)
Healthcare as a right/Medicare for all is one im just particularly passionate about
for anybody interested in learning more about these policies/this point of view you should check out the following new media channels:

You want people to have less opportunity to lift themselves up to be self reliant? If everything i'm saying sounds foreign to you it's because you probably only get your news/media from major media outlets who have a vested interest/bias towards keeping the system the same. You librals destroyed healthcare and are forcing responsible citizens to carry the load..
If you hadn't noticed there are plenty of jobs out there that carry good insurance why would you want to take that away just to implement a system that would be ripe for abuse, as nd will bankrupt this nation btw the constitution does not guarantee healthcare as a right, so again it's state issue.
Trump has given you as close to that as we’ve been in the last 25 years.I already told you what i want: i want an economy that works for everybody (all 330 million of american citizens) not just an economy that works for large corporations and the billionaire class.
Trump has given you as close to that as we’ve been in the last 25 years.
Lowest unemployment rate ever and growth in real wages for first time in two decades for blacks and Hispanics, both usually at the bottom of the economic ladder. The low end is doing better than they have in a generation. His rhetoric is populist but all of his policies have been pro establishment/in favor of large corporations and the wealthy elite
+ he's actively fighting the ACA and 3M less americans have healthcare now than they did before he came into office
+ he increased the defense budget by $200B even though nobody in the military asked for it or wanted it
+ he gave tax breaks where 83% of the benefits go to the top 1% over the next 10 years
+ he's actively fighting to defund medicare/medicaid/and social security to pay for the deficit caused by his tax breaks for the wealthy
+ his cabinet is full of wall st insiders/lobbyists/other wealthy billionaires
Please tell me how any of this helps the common folk in anyway?

In South Florida they are now calling it election "week". It feels like an election in some South American banana republic would feel. Instead of sending emissaries to observe elections in budding democracies, the US might have to start sending them to Broward and Palm Beach counties.
Can you please tell me what number the US ranks in this listing?chaseball we already have an example of government run healthcare and its called the
VA
only an idiot would want something like that for everyone
socialists like you have never figured out human beings; which is why when hard core socialism is tried on a large scale it FAILS.
By the way for those MORONs praising government run healthcare in Canada and the UK I lived in the UK for three years and lived in northern NY for 7; every weekend the clinics around Watertown were three fourths FULL of cars with Canadian License Plates.
So you can take your government run healthcare and STICK it.
statistics are for those that cannot think. Can you please tell me what number the US ranks in this listing?

votes are valuable yet the libs and dems seem to think they are not.Twalsh,
I am afraid that we no longer have a voting process that is honest !
Doing an early ballot for the first time this year has opened my eyes to just how open to fraud and abuse that is.
The ballot is also in Spanish and English. Why ?
Where are all these “ extra “ ballots coming from ?
Record numbers of “ new “ voters. Who are they ?
Early ballots could be distributed door to door to anyone. They could be filled out In a back room ? They are generic, not numbered .
No way to identify them.
So we have a recount ? How do we separate the “ corrupted “. “ false “ , “ Illegal “ ballots
From the honest ones ?
Are elections are decided by some “ Nobodies “ who are appointed to sort ballots !
We are without a doubt already a Banana Republic , we will never be able to trust our election system,
and the Democrats have no desire what so ever to insure honest and fair elections as evident
By the opposition to voted I’d . Registration is as simple as checking a box when one gets or renews a drivers license!
I do agree the unemployment rate is not the best indication, but wages are up because compition. The unemployment rate is not a good indicator of the strength of the economy. You can have a low unemployment rate (a zero unemployment rate) if slavery was legal.
A good indicator is how much economic mobility do you have for those in the lower and middle class .. and what is the median income of wage earners. None of those things have moved in a positive direction when you adjust for inflation.
Essentially the wealthier have gotten wealthier by getting tax breaks and large corporations have gotten wealthier with less regulation and tax breaks of their own. And more blacks and hispanics are serving us french fries.
I ask again, how does any of this help your typical struggling middle class american wage earner (many of which are working longer hours for less pay)?
This is not just an issue under Trump, it has been an issue under both republican and democrat presidents going back to the Reagan years. Both parties are failing to represent their constituents, that's why we need to get private funding out of politics. Both sides are bought and beholden to their donors despite their rhetoric to the people.
like death and taxes:
+give tax breaks to the wealthy
+increase the defense budget (make the military industrial complex more powerful)
+deregulate wall st/large corporations/big business
these are essentially the large majority of policies that have been passed going on 4 decades now. the wealthy and big business absolutely love these policies it makes them fatter and wealthier .. but what about the other 300+ million of us?
Now the democratic lawyers are complaining why the non citizens vote don't count In Fla.votes are valuable yet the libs and dems seem to think they are not.
They want voting to be so simple and easy that its like drinking a cup of coffee.
Voting should require thought and effort because its so valuable.
Make it cheap and no one respects it. Which is exactly what we are getting.
If you have to have an ID to get a check cashed or fly on a plane why not for voting WHICH IS SO MUCH MORE IMPORTANT?

renewing your drivers license is now a real pill; and to think the idiots who like big government think that is fine yet purging voter roles of the dead and ineligible is wrong.I have to bring my passport to renew my CDL which I ve since 2007

The US is very unique and if you have not figured that out by now then go away.
What worked in other countries and cultures has been shown time and again not to work here. Only those that bow down and worship government want any of this. And I will never be one of those.
ITs all about control to those like chase and company; they want power. They want to be the boss. That is what centralized planning and control is all about.
The ultimate result of what chase and company want is the old Soviet Union.
No matter how much they try an deny it.
And it will be just as successful here as it was there.
to be blunt you are not worth any more effort. I only tweak you for amusement. You have neither the ability nor wish to understand beyond your OWN opinions. So ignore all data/facts/evidence provided on the matter, while providing none of your own, and then double down by strawmanning the other persons argument. Typically with some overt insult of another's opinion that also doesn't counter anything being said .. e.g. "dumbest opinion ever..." .. gotta love friedmanIP
