BK telling his team we have to patient. The whole first half was nothing but patience .We continued to run the ball on first down even with Clemson stacking and outmanning us on the line of scrimmage. It was clear they didn't want Prosise to get untracked . The first half was almost a total waste except for the field goal . We were patient with our offense alright . Very conservative play calling . I know some of the receivers dropped passes ,but still think if we opened up the offense earlier on first down ,it would have helped the running game .

If I ramble on so what.It 's complete frustration .

4 turnovers in the second half for us..Reminds me of the 5 turnovers Alabama had against in the /Ole Miss game Alabama was still the better team .Same with us against Clemson .We are the better team .

The offensive play calling was awful . Kelly should have kicked the extra point instead of the 2point try on a pass to Robinson in the back of the end zone .

The last play ,Kizers 2 point run attempt .I guess if it would have worked ,we would have said ,what a great play call ,but it didn't .

Our defense gave up the 2 quick touchdowns in the early minutes of the first quarter, and the touchdown after the turnover (Sanders) in the second half kick off . Our defense played well .

Yes, some wrs missed balls , but I thought Kizer threw a few balls high to the receivers . And when Kizer threw the long ball to Robinson ,Robinson should have caught it ,but everyone saw the ND player(?) who was wide open near end zone .

Still think we lost this game in the first half . Wish we had gone up tempo instead of waiting till the 4th quarter . Kelly played it to close to the vest early . I didn't look at the second half stats yet .

patience is fine....but doing something that isn't working over and over is just stupid. it was clear after the second drive of the game that the running on first down wasn't going to work. yet until midway through the third quarter...when the irish fell behind 21-3 notre dame had thrown exactly one time on first down (a 22 yard gain to procise)

and if you really mean patience the conversion attempt at the end of the third quarter was stupid. the players were patient and got the team a chance to win. Kelly wasn't and it cost them the game. even worse...how the hell do you call a time out to get the attempt? let the clock run out and kick the xp from 22 yds.

I fully support Kelly and hope hes here another 5 years. but he blew it tonight

As for Kizer...its pretty clear he is full of talent. but his lack of experience is really a problem. or maybe its just vision. either way he missed a number of open recievers and keyed on where he was going with the ball almost at the snap. its nobody wearing the golden helmets fault though. Golston waiting so long to announce he was leaving killed his reps in Spring. and tonight the Irish paid for it.

All those missed snaps led to the oline being beat by the Clemson front seven and the fumbles? Independent of how no one's knows exactly how the situation with Golson went down Kizer's play didn't cause the loss. Even if Kizer got all those snaps the jitters he showed the first quater and a half weren't going to be cured in practice.

don't confuse patience and indecisive

I realize that Kizer was inexperienced having less than 3 games under his belt . But the play calling still sucked .Kelly believed our offensive line would eventually get the job done in the first half . Clemson and Dabo put 8 men in the box and Kelly didn't counter. It took 2 and a half quarters and a 21-3 lead before Kelly woke up .

BK gets crap on this board if he abandons the run early...and he gets crap if he sticks with the run. That being said, I do wish there had been a little more creativity mixed in with the play calling earlier. Something to ease up the pressure of stacking the box. To the coaches out there...some play-action, perhaps? 5 WR sets?

As discussed on various threads...it comes down to 4 turnovers, 5-6 key drops, loads of silly penalties, etc. We had plenty of yards in this game. It was the other stuff that lost it.

I don't see that the Death Valley atmosphere was intimidating at all. It is a great atmosphere, but the Irish had multiple turnovers, dropped passes and silly penalties and still had a chance to take the game into overtime with 7 seconds left. Some teams that don't play major college schedules might be a little in awe of the atmosphere, but Notre Dame IS big time football. Clemson was just another day at the office.

The players gave it their all . Defense was great and the offense rallied when we were down and went to a passing game .
