Albert, who started in place of Rose Lavelle, assisted on USA's only goal. Her through ball to Mallory Swanson allowed Swanson to give USA a 1-0 lead in the 57th minute. Albert, 20, became the third-youngest player to ever start for USWNT at the Olympics when she did so in the quarterfinal against Japan.

Albert's sophomore season in 2022 was her last at Notre Dame. She was a Mac Hermann Trophy finalist, the Top Drawer Soccer Player of the Year, a first-team All-American and ACC Midfielder of the Year. She's been playing professionally with Paris Saint Germain since then.

Football Notre Dame LB coach Max Bullough transcript after Saturday's practice

Notre Dame linebackers coach Max Bullough met the media after Saturday's Irish football practice. Really enjoyed this interview. Mild warning, I left the salty language in, and it wasn't a lot. But I think it gives you a better idea of his intensity, so I left it in. Questions were edited in some cases for brevity and clarity.

Football Riley Leonard finds new level of mental, physical preparation in Notre Dame camp

Riley Leonard couldn't help but have some doubts about his situation following a second ankle surgery this spring. A confident Leonard has returned three weeks away from Notre Dame's season opener.

“But being able to come out here and prove myself this fall camp has just been the best feeling in the world. I did a great job of relating to everybody on this team off the field, but at some point you gotta get in there. You gotta start throwing these guys touchdowns, giving them the ball and really getting after the game with them. Finally, we were able to get that piece of on-the-field chemistry.”

Football Notre Dame football adds PFF's Anthony Treash as director of analytics

I'll try to drill down on this a little more next Saturday, which is when we get Marcus Freeman in front of us next.
