There isn't anyone on that list that's proven or you're confident can require an occasional double let alone be a game changer.

yeah I think Burress has a shot to be a good #2 (in an ideal situation) at WR, but we know what greathouse and faison are. Two slot WRs that aren't doing great on the field together because 1 is then out of position.
They're all underclassmen.

You're always negative. We get it. You wanted Freeman gone after his first game as a DC and you have to keep up that same energy because you want to be right

Then you lean on the portal.

Come play with CJ Carr and the best OL in the country.

I'd be interested to see Mitchell, Collins, and Harrison with an elite OL and QB.
Mitchell is shockingly kind of slow, or at least plays that way for ND ( i expected much more, he hasn't taken the top off the defense yet)

Collins I thought was going to be a monster, but he's in his own head and struggling

Harrison is coming on strong

Point being, yeah you can get some solid player in the portal, but solid is as good as it gets for ND in the portal at WR. We need to lean on the portal for depth, not starters or game changers. They have to come from recruiting HS just like freeman says, and what we're not doing but maybe one class with Gilbert and Williams (those two, one has to become a stud for ND to be really good moving forward).

You can always get solid wrs in the portal

Greathouse
Faison
Smith
Williams
Gilbert
Saldate
Burress

Then if you get 1 of Richardson or Bettis to be solid and transfers we'll be fine.

Is it where we want to be, no. It's it a mess, also no. People don't realize how good Burress is yet and that is making people more nervous

Army - CFP

The problem with Army playing an SEC schedule is playing the SEC week after week. They would not hold up. Nor should they. 2-6 would be my prediction.
Exactly. Not saying they couldn't pull an upset one time but zero chance they could have a .500 record in the SEC as someone suggested. They would be the least competitive team in the league. Whole different animal week in week out. One win would be an accomplishment.

Army - CFP

Talk about nonsense. Army has their best victory against mighty East Carolina. They haven't played ANYONE. Sure maybe if they had one so so SEC team on their schedule and the stars aligned perfectly they could pull an upset. Nearly impossible for them to win more than one game against an SEC schedule. 1-7 at best.

Army - CFP

Nonsense.

Vanderbilt lost to Georgia State.

Miss state got beat by Toledo by 24

Kentucky has 6 losses

Auburn lost to California

Oklahoma beat Houston by 4

Arkansas lost to Oklahoma State by 8

To act like Army couldn't beat any of these teams is an obvious SEC bias for sure.

Would they, who knows. Can they on a given day, absolutely

It’s a negative situation

WR is a mess, and not looking good for 26 either. Our 24 class, 2 of the 3 must turn out really good or WR will be a weakness when we have potentially really good throwing QBs.

We wasted the 23 season with poor WR play.
