Am I the only one completely exasperated with THIS result every recruiting cycle?

And you don’t have any reason to believe that Charlie Weis who had three Super Bowl rings as the offensive coordinator of the Patriots had anything to do with bringing in talent

I asked you the name the players who didn’t meet Notre Dame’s academic standards under Weis, why have you failed to answer that question?

Am I the only one completely exasperated with THIS result every recruiting cycle?

Bro, you are making my point.

We were able to secure many 5-star #1 prospects at their position/top 5 prospects during the Charlie Weis era while having arguably even more archaic academic requirements and standards.

If we could do it then, why can't we do it now?

Point being: the issue today is not academic standards, its something else.

Am I the only one completely exasperated with THIS result every recruiting cycle?

I’m a little disappointed but I trust the evaluations and the player development.
Why do I have a feeling this has always been your contention going back the last 10 years?

At what point do you start being critical of whatever the hell is going on since the Charlie Weis era on the recruiting trail -- in regards to the talent ND is fielding in relation to their competition -- and not just mindlessly give Notre Dame the benefit of the doubt?
Why do you continue to talk with yourself? Get help!

Football ***GAME THREAD: No. 5 Notre Dame 49, USC 35 (Final)***

I'm perched atop the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, so let's get the game thread rolling for Notre Dame-USC.

We will use this game thread as the primary home for game commentary from now until after the game. We have some rules we'll ask you to follow, which will be included below.

If you're not following the rules and do not respond well to reminders, we'll remove you're posting privileges for the rest of the day. We have too much to do today to argue about it during the game. This doesn't happen often as we're pretty lenient in the game thread, but please keep that in mind.

@HotCarNut has disciplinary powers as a moderator. You can argue with him about the game, but do not argue with him about the rules.

Our game thread rules:

1. Use this thread until the end of the game for ongoing game commentary. We'd like to keep the conversation in one place. If something from the game merits a separate conversation of substance, go ahead and start another thread for that topic. When in doubt, post in the game thread.

2. Criticism of decision-making by coaches and players is allowed. But please avoid making it personal. Don't be malicious. Remember, that person's mother could be reading your post. If you cross the line, you'll lose posting privileges for the day.

3. Don't be a doofus. Have some respect for your fellow subscribers.

Ref's with a 12 / 16 playoff

Anyway GT was totally effed on that not-called targeting violation. I didn't even realize it at first because the TV crew didn't really talk about it, and the refs were seemingly hustling the fumble film review through as quick as they could. Because that was really effed up. That was obvious targeting. The only thing I can think of is no one saw it when it happened, in all innocence, and you're not allowed to notice it later on an unrelated film review and then invoke it. If that's the rule then I guess it was just a blown call. I suppose that is the rule, I can't remember what all the limitations of video reviews are and what is and is not deemed reviewable.

Agree. There were huge holds on the tying drive also. Just no Tech refs and all UGA the last 5
