Playoff Game Prediction Thread

Okay, Boys and Girls, we've arrived at the week of the First Round of Playoffs. What say you?

I say the first half will be close. IU has some creativity with their offense, but Golden makes good adjustments and after a couple scores shuts them down. As for ND, we match them with a couple TDs in the first half but in the second half our OL wears down the IU guys and Love and Price have big numbers.

ND 38
IU 17
That’s a good score. I would tack on a bit more. ND 42 IU 13

Theres been talk of College Football needing CFB Commissioner tonfix the problems

Right, you're on the side of the slavemasters and the NCAA. And that is the end run, and the only recourse that could maybe allow them to legally hold onto to their dominant, exploitative position, even though at this point that's obviously completely unrealistic. A literal act of congress. A special exception that says we are going to suspend the normal laws and precedents and basic civil rights so that colleges like ND can continue financially raping their own players. And so it will be done. Even though players are not going to accept going back to the the old system, the ancien regime shall we say of forced amateurism upon pain of expulsion from the sport, after they've been getting paid, finally, rightfully, after all these years.

And while you're at it you're going to get them to get rid of autobids as well by congressional fiat. Like a true reactionary ND fan. Classic...
Slave masters is inflammatory and not indicative of any organization empowered to manage potential chaos

The ncaa has proven useless Player unions do not apply in a collegiate setting. No one is forcing attendance schools provide a benefit via tuition, board, and a career path to either an occupation or a chance at the nfl. It’s not the nfl with a job for profit model so a union is not the answer. That leaves consensus building to agree on rules and the facilitator imo is congress

Transfer portal. Any news ?

I saw that both Zachariah and his brother Zion entered the portal; from what I have read they are a package deal. Zachariah flashed here and there his freshman season, but I think he was a bit of a disappointment this season. Be interesting to see where they end up.
Lincoln Riley severely misused his talent. He has the talent of a St.Brown.

True or false - the only way ND can lose to Indiana is by being out coached

Absolutely false. Turnovers, period. Protect the ball and I can't envision them losing. I don't see Indiana stopping the run or even slowing it down. They have not faced many if any run heavy teams all year.
Good point on turnovers, especially given the cold n possibly wet weather

But you assume we will be able to run on them. We have seen teams stack the box and stop us - although not so much this season as we have been run dominant - but we could struggle running if we don’t counter the box with plays designed by our coaches. So I am still of the mind set that other than turnovers or say dropping passes, coaching is huge

We have better talent

I was expecting the "if we lose, our coaches must suck post" to not come until at least our second possession of the game and only if our offense isn't slicing through their defense and and our defense isn't dominating their offense.
A 100% success rate on both sides of the ball is the only acceptable outcome for some.

Agreed, bad interceptions, missed blocking assignments and random fumbles aren’t necessarily all on the coaching staff.

If we take care of the ball and both lines play up to their standard, I’d expect us to win comfortably.

I am not a fan of neuheisel. Feel he is weak. Perhaps I am wrong but that’s my impression. I feel strongly that the only thing that will fix nil and college sports is congressional action

A commissioner may appear to be a solution but the present commissioners of conferences like sec n big have corrupted the 12 team playoff by insisting on auto bids resulting in joke teams like Clemson getting in instead of teams with better records Merit doesn’t matter

So why would a commissioner for all teams be any different We need rules that can be followed by either a commissioner or the ncaa and congress needs to do that by creating rules on nil, merit based playoffs, gender specific competition, etc

I do not in any way see Indiana as a better team. Not close. We should not lose this game

We know what to expect. An offense that can hurt you if we don’t get a pass rush and also contain the run

We know we need to offset their solid defense that stops the run with play action n creative plays in space

Do these two things with our better talent and we win. Probably handily.

If we don’t, our coaches have failed.

And that would not go over well It’s tough to be favored but it’s time to earn that $
