I don't know for sure, that's just my guess. How could I know that. But you, of course, don't like that idea one bit! What a surprise....not surprised you think online fans chased him out.
It is the kind of stupidity we are used to seeing from you
HE ran for the money and no other reason
Dude, enough. I'd rather you lay him into him like a thug, the way everyone else does. It's a gang-bang! That's what they call that. It's been going on for many years now. It's pathological, like, mass hysteria mob mentality type shit, facilitated by this wonderful thing, this technology called the internet, which just happens to be your metier. Many books and scholarly studies and long-form articles in esteemed magazines like The Atlantic and Harper's Monthy have been written about this alarming social phenomenon. Twitter mobs and the like. And somehow, to my great disappointment and dismay, BK became fodder for this now rampant social contagion or whatnot. You don't need to write these carefully condescending little takedowns of his character and his 'likability', that's not what this is about. Nobody cares about BK's traits or his record of achievements on the merits. They just want to dogpile him. Only it's ND, so some of them tend to be fastidious.I feel somewhat bad for BK. No doubt he's overall successful and rich. 1st world problems.
But nobody likes to fall short, especially to an assistant at the ND you left. More so asserting LSU is the place to win a NC. You tell it burns BK...words, body language, tone.
I think he struggles to understand what is missing. Especially regarding likability. I've listened to pre-game speeches by him and MF. Big contrast.
I'll keep repeating: I'm grateful for BK. He was who ND desperately needed to rise from being a terrible program at that point. He endured to right the ship. And most of all, even if he optimized everything, he's not beating elite Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State, and Georgia.
BK left a good foundation for an emerging MF in a changing college football landscape narrowing the talent gap. BK is part of a good story. I continue to wish him luck and success...which would benefit ND as well, as he could be a lifelong advocate given his long tenure at ND.
12 years as the head coach at Notre Dame parlayed into a 100 million guaranteed contract is a wonderful career path.I give BK the benefit of the doubt. It was all of the above: money, what he perceived as a real opportunity, and simply that he knew he had run his course at ND. I don't begrudge him that.
As is famously said, be careful what you wish for, as he's finding out who he really is as a coach.
Which means nothing. There is a lunatic fringe of people in every fan base.

Which means nothing. There is a lunatic fringe of people in every fan base. That wasn't my point. My point was that as soon as ND experiences its next setback, people will be calling for Freeman's head. Not that the university is going to rush out and can him.

Such a bad take. Like really badThis year's defense does not change the reality of the situation in 2021.
Yes this. We have one half of a good team. I did not see a single deep completion in the Sugar Bowl from us.
That’s lost revenue. That will never happen.I think that they need to dial the regular season back to 11 games.
just too many games for the teams competing; too much for those kids
The roster is loaded with talent. That's all I knowCan you just make your case without the insults? I have thick enough skin where it doesn't bother me, but i'm more worried about how this makes the community look to new visitors/ potential posters who want to get involved in the discussion but dont want to be bullied for their opinions or called stupid, an idiot, a moron, or whatever else. The average age of posters here has got to be well over 50 -- is it too much to ask to act like it?
Star ratings are grades/evaluations of an athletes measurements, height, weight, speed, drill-times, strength, etc. (and their raw physical/athletic potential going forward) these evaluations/grades are earned over multiple years in camp, on film, etc. while prospects are 16-18 years old.
Good coaches are able to overcome lack of raw physical ability (e.g. jim harbaugh 2023 and marcus freeman 2024 and many others on a lesser scale) and develop the hell out of players fundamentals and maximize their skills, but from a raw physical material standpoint, there isn't much headroom. And players that do have a lot of athletic headroom going forward are awarded aggressive grades for it.
Georgia has an 85 man roster full of some of the rarest/scarcest athletes at their position out of HS: 30 players rated in top 100 composite, half of those the highest rated players at their position). Notre Dame has one player graded among the highest percentile.
With good scouting/evaluations/etc. ND has been able to find several diamonds in the ruff but in aggregate the collective difference in raw physical material between Georgia and Notre Dame are as far apart as it gets at the high P4 level.
It's just funny (sarcastically) and frankly really annoying to see Driskell foaming at the mouth, CONSTANTLY stating this idea that Notre Dame has the more talented roster, the more athletic roster, etc. which goes against all of the evidence/data on the topic. Its cringe inducing. To see someone state something so emphatically while having no clue whatsoever about what they are talking about.
not surprised you think online fans chased him out. You'd think, huh? What you want is to able to hate on the guy, and piss and shit all over him in peace. That's what you want. You want it all, quite frankly. You want BK to come in and rescue ND's broken ass football program, that quite literally was in danger of heading towards a slippery slope of indefinite mediocrity and irrelevance the way things were steadily lurching. Have us in the national title game by year 3. Eventually, after things took a left turn for a few years get us to annual playoff contender status, perennial top ten national program status. And he finally gets the F out of there, I personally think on account of what a toxic hellhole ND's online fan-scape had become, right as the program was reaching a peak that he brought it to, and so he abruptly bolted to LSU and the SEC when he had the chance. And that's why he left. He felt unappreciated, which he definitely was. It was borderline unsafe for him to remain at ND any longer, and so he fled like a thief in the night!
So you want all that, all the good stuff. And by wonderful, fortuitous chance, MF, who BK hired, this boyish ingenue in comparison, is able to walk into this fantastic situation, and after most definitely taking two or three steps back, is finally making all the way good on what BK started, which is to his credit, even though BK already achieved what MF has on three previous occasions, just for the record. And so what you want is to leverage that success, success enjoyed on a direct line of descent from all that BK had done... and continue to piss and shit all over BK, like it's an ongoing orgy, that never really stops, and it revs up whenever LSU loses a game or a recruit or anything at all. And to do so with impunity. Obviously you're going to milk MF's success for every drop you can to continue the hate-fest, and shamelessly attempt to portray yourselves as the long-suffering victims, you play the victim card. You're being gaslit. And you push all that with a straight face. Like I said you want it all. And this is ND, the angelic choir boys of CFB. The good guys, morally better than everyone else. And this is how you act. This is the real ND.

They have barely played this year. That is all speculation on your part in how they are a blockers currentlyBauman has played enough. He has 10 career receptions. Look him up. Sherwood is a very good multi purpose guy and one of the most valuable special teamers. You post things in absolutes when it's nothing more than speculation. For the record I never opined that they're better blockers than Flanagan. They're certainly better than Raridon in my opinion this year.
No doubt. 44 is an absolute player. 11 on defense is as well. It’s gonna be a dog fight. Turnovers will be huge if there are any. For all the “ can’t win the big game talk’” both teams are on the doorstep of history44 is real tuff to stop. He has lined up as: TE, WR, Slot R, RB, QB, Center, and Punter. He was a QB in HS and knows how to play the position. Not only that, but he caught a well contested TD pass as the Center on the same play, which I've never seen before, and likely will never see again. Your best defender should be stuck to him like glue.
EDIT for the mod. If you don't want me to post, just tell me, but if you want me to continue, stop with the restrictions set for your review. It's impossible to have a discussion if you have to review everything first.

It was borderline unsafe for him to remain at ND any longer, and so he fled like a thief in the night! It would be downright hilarious if we won the title and Kelly didn't even make the playoff. People can feel however they want about Kelly, he left abruptly for bigger money. I don't hate Kelly. While its not cool to hate Kelly it is also not cool to gaslight people upset with the way he left by labeling them toxic haters.
That said, I'll be at the Orange Bowl cheering on our boys! Go Irish. Two more.Man, it is sure a lot to ask these kids! A 12 game season, then a 4 game playoff. Hell, ND kids start classes in a week and winter workouts soon! I feel for the NFL bound players like Mills who is now dealing with injury. And the Freshman who are used to playing what 9 games?!
Not sure the alternative. Maybe cut Championship games? Go back to an 11 game season? In the end $$$ will talk.
This. Classless departure. We have outgrown Brian Kelly. It’s not even so much about him leaving for another team. I honestly couldn’t have cared less about that. Go make your money. It was the way that he did it and the pot shots he took in doing so. Fvck that guy

Notre Dame Football: Roaring Past the Brian Kelly Era
It felt like the sky was falling when Brian Kelly left Notre Dame in 2021. The opposite happened.www.si.com
They are definitely up there. Played a brutally hard schedule and won a nattyBorn in 1993 so didn’t get to see these guys. I read Lou Holtz’s book in reference to this season and I wish I could have seen these guys. I remember Stonebreaker being mentioned countless times.
Do you think this an all time LB core in CFB history?
