and SMUNo. Under the current set up the winning team would still have to win 4 post season games. Clemson was the only team that would have had to win 5. The only way to make a bye a true advantage is to eliminate conference championship games and that's unlikely given the revenue they generate. ND basically had a "bye" when other playoff teams were participating in championship games.
Dear alphabet poll lover...I noticed ND is now a 2 point underdog to UGA.
If ND had top 5 talent, instead of back end top 10 talent, they would probably be a 5 point favorite with a far higher likelihood to win this game.
I like how several of the posters in this thread understand how the talent rankings work and what they represent but are now disregarding the information/evidence and playing make believe in their heads that ND has 5 star talent on the field lol
ND has 3 & 4 star talent that has been maximized with great player development and great scheme but its the lack of high 4 & 5 star talent that is still capping this program's upside.
Imagine NDs coaching staff with OSUs roster/talent for example
OSUs roster has 14 five-stars and another 10+ top 100 prospects on it for example (that means 25 of their 80+ scholarship players are top 100 consensus talent with more than half of that being 5-star talent)
Imagine what Marcus Freeman/ this coaching staff could do with that much talent?
Looks like the other thread got shut down. I have no issue with the Edge guys, been fantastic. The concern is the interior DT, in 6 years ND has not recruited ONE Top 150 player with an average ranking of 360. WR/DT have been the two worst recruited positions and it’s not close. ND has done “very well” at every other positionThis was his first year in cfb. His ranking will skyrocket because of what the team did this year
Both mean nothing.
That’s arbitrary. In terms of the entire country, we are recruiting the d line very well. In terms of the top 15 teams, which I’m comparing us to, we’re near the bottom. We have 11 4star DL. We aren't recruiting the DL not that well
That's a false inaccurate narrative.
We are recruiting the DL very well just not at the elite level.
If that's what you said originally I would agree with you brother. Just calling out the false narrative that some like to say we don't recruit DL well. Because it is inaccurate
There’s no better conference in CFB than the SEC.Nothing just like Clemson going 0-3 vs the SEC has nothing to do with what I stated. Which is the SEC has 3-4 top teams.

The game was never close. Except the opening kickoff.
Read your initial comment. The Indiana-Notre Dame wasn’t competitive. It was never competitive. At all.
Hell, Notre Dame scored on their second and third possessions and never looked back.
Why you continue to argue that is odd.
I believe Big 10 Oregon, Ohio State, and Penn State match up well with SEC Georgia, Texas, and Tennessee.Again, irrelevant to the discussion. They may have the best conference, but it's primarily based on the top 3-4 teams in the SEC.

What does that have to do with 2024?Ok, so. They also beat two SEC teams in the playoffs on their way to winning two national championships.
