Why Aren't We Talking About the New DC?

Thanks you just confirmed it!
That guy is a straight up geek's geek. And I don't mean just a sports geek, just a pure geek. I don't know how you could even listen to someone so palpably stupid and not be insulted, to have that stuttering dork tell you what's up with ND football. ND's beat media and punditocracy has some decent voices, but definitely not that guy.

You put a camera on someone and a mic in their face, and that shit just has some magical hold over people.

You are a dummy. Jamie U is the best analyst covering ND football.

And still went on to win the national championship.

Riley Leonard didn't throw a passing TD until game 4. Great seasons can happen with weird stats
We're debating the merits of a HC calling his own plays on offense.
In the offense Lou Holtz ran, Tony Rice is the best QB I have ever seen play for Notre Dame. Not the best traditional QB; again, the best I have ever watched to play the position, IMO.
Winning games by three points off of defense and special teams is not a great precedent for a HC being his own offensive coordinator.

Listened to ash”s press conference. Going to keep playing the same defensive style as golden.
Seems to have said all the right things.

I'd like to think that's kind of the plan. Get a veteran, experienced guy who knows his stuff and is considered smart, football smart, and I think this guy is. Even if his career trajectory has leveled out, and he might be considered among the journeyman class. And keep the train rolling, rather than sort of a regime change, at least for now. And far as Mickens goes, maybe there is some kind of understanding that you're next in line, if you want it. I don't know how close the two of them are, MF and MM, and whether or not some kind of loose arrangement could work. Given all of MM's success he's going to get his shot and fairly quickly. And he's been at ND long enough and successfully enough that you would love for it to be here, and that MM feels the same way. So hopefully/maybe he's the heir apparent.

That would be cool.
